Korg still has a few things to learn about gui design.braj wrote:Yep, how exactly can they mess that one up?aMUSEd wrote:That's what I meant - it's daftEvilDragon wrote:No, when you change the filter type, the GUI doesn't change.
The main ui is a copy of the arp interface so they could not mess that up.
Where they went beyond it, still a few things to learn.

They're still better at GUIs and UX than Roland.

The ARP emulation doesn't do much for me. I think I'm too used to oddity which sounds great after all these years and basically uses no CPU. I didn't even bother upgrading to oddity 2 although I might. I'm glad I didn't cough up any extra money for This Korg emulation as I just got it as part of the bundle at a great sales price. It seems to be a bit jumpy with it's CPU use and I hate that the sequencer actually modifies the values of the parameters rather than offsetting them. I can do that with any simple midi tool/ plugin arpeggiator/ sequencer and not be tied to their silly old interface. Oh well. Maybe it'll get better with some updates.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Does it make any difference if I use the UPGRADE COUPON and then MIGRATION COUPON, or vice versa?
I have 32bit windows, I won't be able to register them anyway now. I'll be upgrading from M1Le.
Thx!

One problem I have discovered with the ARP Odyssey is that it's settings are invisible to my host (Orion). It works OK if you save your sounds to a USER preset but when I shared our latest project with my bandmate, the Odyssey loaded a patch from the factory bank because his USER bank was empty. You can't see its presets in Orion's preset browser, either, but there are a few VSTi with that problem and they save their state within a song file just fine.

I got an email today that said there's an update with aax support, not that it matters to me, but good to see they are actually working on the plugins.

Big +1 on this.... I was really baffled by this choice. It looks completely weird seeing the faders dance around like that, and from a programming standpoint it only hinders, not helps. Truly odd decision from Korg's team on this one. The sequencer should just offset the values of the modulated parameters, as any of us would expect it to do.

thank you mcnoone and fmr, i did the migration coupon first and i am now downloading the odyssey after upgradingmcnoone wrote:You need to do the migration coupon first, as it actually states in the instructions.carrieres wrote:what are your advises ?
Which coupon do i have to do first ?
Can i change my email address or i will go into trouble ?
thanks for sharing your experience
Try to keep the same email as your korguser(dot)net if possible.
Just continue finishing the purchasing process and ignore the price showing as a full amount.
It will end in you paying nothing.
After completing it, they will send you the key that will open all of your collection.
After that you can do the discount coupon for getting the arp odyssey, just go through the process and they send you the key through email.
I have the odyssey now, and like it a lot.
Sounds awesome imo.
I didn't change my email, so I don't know if that will cause a problem.
It's possible you may then have to go through customer support for that.

The thing, of course, is that the whole Korg Collection is cheaper than Oddity and Korg's Odyssey on it's own is well less than half the price of Oddity. There's just no way I'd ever pay what GForce are asking for a single softsynth, no matter how good it was.Ah_Dziz wrote:The ARP emulation doesn't do much for me. I have to agree with that, I have a hard time justifying any plugin over $99.BONES wrote:The thing, of course, is that the whole Korg Collection is cheaper than Oddity and Korg's Odyssey on it's own is well less than half the price of Oddity. Yes me too! It is rare for me to pay more than $99 for a synth. Diva was the only one I remember that I bought for more than $100. Sylenth1 was for $99, Absynth was for $74, Dune 2 was for $99 (first time, I don't remember the second time! It is NFR anyway). Legend was for $99 but RePro 1 cost me $99 + 15% Tax!!braj wrote:I have to agree with that, I have a hard time justifying any plugin over $99.BONES wrote:The thing, of course, is that the whole Korg Collection is cheaper than Oddity and Korg's Odyssey on it's own is well less than half the price of Oddity. As I'm trying to make some music these days, I must say that I'm using mostly Korg synths (not ARP Odyssey though), FM8, Absynth, blofeld and Sylenth1, which is new to my music making. They are all together don't even pass 15% of the CPU and the sound is so great (for me) that I don't even need any effects to add! I think I can live with this setup forever! Not sure even I need the fat and thick sound of ARP Odyssey and RePro for example! But they are there together with the Legend (which uses much less CPU) if needed
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.
