True, and of course it can be 8 of the best out of a field of 10,000 :)

Love the concept behind this one.

Welcome to "The Collection" - an ambitious project, gathering 8 of the worlds best sound designers, to work on one gigantic expansion pack. We are proud to present this epic collaboration of Manuel Schleis, BigTone, Andy Hinz, Stephan Endemann, Marcel Susenburger, Marcel Seifer, Mirko Ruta and Alan Morris! Each Sound Designer contributed what he can do best, resulting in a highly diversified expansion pack which is one of a kind! With 173 (!) presets, one highlight chases the other, you can find sounds of any kind and genre here, ranging from EDM, Trance, House, Synthwave, Vocal Dance to Pop, Cinematic, Chillout and anything between. This expansion pack is a must to own and a true treasure trove of inspiration!

Attention: VPS Avenger version 1.6.2 minimum required!

this expansion adds to your library:

173 Avenger presets 31 new drumkits
31 new drum sequences 47 new granular samples
98 new multisamples 85 new osc-shapes
39 new wavetables 8 new multiloops

available now at vengeance-sound.com

since this question came up: of course ALL Presets, Drums, Samples etc... are brand new designed sounds especially for this expansion!

Is there any news on this?

Have had to uninstall Avenger because of CP/re-auth issues.

(Can't trust it to work when I need it to, so can't risk using it)

Yes!! There's always healthy debate, but with iLok v3 dongles, I've never had a single problem (touch wood)

We only work with absolute professionals however.
Manuel can easily be considered in my opinion among the 5 best sound designers in the industry

Who are the best would I imagine depend on ones personal aesthetics as you quite rightly pointed out by using "in my opinion", and I would add whose work inspires you to play and
/or compose the most.

Whilst the one you explicitly mentioned may not be in my top 5, clearly he is a world class sound designer and it would be ridiculous of me to argue he shouldn't be on that list.

From that list, for my personal taste and style BigTone would always be in my top 5.
I only responded just to clarify this was definitely not meant as a diss on Manuel skills, of which I have been fortunate enough to be inspired by especially in my pre nexus/avenger days.

"the last synth you will ever need", "8 of the world best sounddesigners ever" ... the next goal should be "the most customer friendly synth of the world", but this will be a really hard work! :D

I downloaded the demo off their site yesterday, but it said it was the 1.4.2 version.

The GUI was awful, I couldn't make sense of it tbh, really put me off this synth.

If it's on V1.6 by now, why is the demo ancient ?

I really like bigtones stuff too, and Rob Lee was always someone I highly rated.

I don't know what is customer unfriendly on VPS Avenger? Sure it is complex. But did you ever tried UVI Falcon? No? You would learn something about user unfriendly. :D :D

@copyprotection

I of course understand that developers want to protect their product and hard work, but with developers at this scale I get the feeling that it's just not worth it / a waste of time.

Synths like Sylenth1 and Serum have been heavily pirated, but there is an economics of scale effect happeing. Sure the more your product get's pirated the more "theoretical" sales are lost, but at the same time sales will increase, thanks to youtubers, word of mouth, market saturation etc. Considering it's not actually that easy to find pirated software these days, if you are just a regular joe watching trance/trap tuts on youtube wanting to join the fun..

It's the same for those extreme sales some companies are having in winter, some report that they made much more money that way because of the volume they moved although to a very low price.

Another example would be FL with it's free lifelong updates. how can this work? Well music production becomes more popular by the day and there are millions of teens turning 16 everyday wanting to start producing, it's not like you can ever saturate the marked since new people are literally joining it everyday.

But yeah, it's propably a difficult mindset to have when you consider all the blood, sweat and tears that I'm sure went into the creation of Avenger.

reading this kind of text from a "non dev" for the 100. time, doesnt make it true, unfortunately :)

It's your synth anyway.

Totally different question that I can't quit figure out:

Even with the "Init Patch" the Amp Mixer (AMP1) is always shown hitting the red, even when the OSC and Master Mixer is peaking a bit above -18dBFS. Then in Ableton the Level is different again, peaking a bit under -18 with RMS at -24dBFS

is this a bug maybe?
