I'll check it out later. I made some great kicks in ACE last weekend. Using the ramp generator to sweep a sine and then to shape the pitch further and more subtly, used the second ASDR. It gets you close to most kinds of useful Kicks

What are/will the sonic and feature difference be between Bazille and ACE? Somewhere I read they will both become part of Berlin Modular, but at this point they are self-contained plugins. U-he Fans will buy Bazille regardless, but for the rest . . . what advantages/differences does one have over the other?

Well, Bazille is kind of a nerdy thing. Where ACE is a "could have existed" classical modular synth with analogue roots, Bazille is a modular FM/PD synth. Bazille is a bit of a bastard in the way she combines strictly digital synthesis with an analogue paradigm (patch everything anywhere).

I don't expect Bazille to be a big seller, but I expect her to be what we stand for: Something that had to be done, and done right.

Berlin Modular is a different story, and something we need to wait for a bit longer. I get goose bumps thinking of it.

Urs, do you believe the uniqueness (less commercial, i.e., not a standard analog emulation, etc.) of Bazille will make it more of a specialty item for the nerdy set? Down the road, will Berlin Modular be a container that holds/houses the likes of Bazille and ACE and __________? Much appreciation for your speedy replies. .

Well, I guess I finally have a label for myself.

Perhaps Bazille will not be your biggest seller, due to its nature. But I, for one, can already tell you that it will receive much love from me, and I can only appreciate that u-he is developing a product for a niche subset of a niche market.

I expect you are right... but still... Bazille is really in a class by itself. The toolset, flexibility and sound quality is unrivaled.

It is an amazing percussion synth... intense raw basses, effects, lots of FM type sounds at a quality that synths like FM8 cannot touch... and more...

We for sure can't wait for the release version. We played with it briefly on the Musikmesse and it's awesome! The many many different kind of sounds you can make with it are inspiring for sure!
