For those interested in the outcome of the Eventide Anthology X "Any" 4 plugins upgrade offer for $99 ($84 with discount in cart). It's been confirmed that it is now true. Eventide has updated their policy and I am now successfully registered.

Updated the thread here on it: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=473913&p=6625229#p6625229

Special thanks to Uncle E for coming through as always. I'll never doubt you again.

Hope this helps. Upgrade while you can for cheap! :)

Thanks everyone.

That makes this the hands down discount winner for this season. I already had four plugins from them, two were free and you can pry the other two from my cold dead hands. That means I bought no duplicates and got the anthology for $84.

Whenever my serial gets here, of course.

But, who cares, I have a 30 day demo, holy shit Eventide, you know how to do it right.

Still lost in this plugin / sample-pack sea. Any Black-Friday recommendations for beginner who tries to get better 24/7 at producing. I have Ableton Suite, Omnisphere 2 and Kick 2. I dont have any reverbs / eq's /compressors other than from ableton. Also no sample packs.

Was hoping to find good quality sample packs for fx / vocals /fills. also kicks / claps / snares. About mixing plugins i have no idea which ones are good. People have been recommending me waves gold bundle but i see many are hyped by eventide deals or soundtools deals.

Also would like to have a plugin for vocal editing like little alterboy but is it really that good or should i go for something like melodyne? Please help a plugin newbie in need :P. Thanks!

That is a bit a matter of personal preference. But when it comes to sample packs and Black Friday deals, I would check out the Levithian sample pack by Black Octopus:
http://www.loopmasters.com/products/3190-Leviathan

Or simply go with a Splice subscription. At the cheapest tier it comes with 100 sample downloads a month. You can audition a huge selection from all kinds of developers and then just download the ones you like.
Follow me on Youtube for videos on spatial and immersive audio production.

Thanks. Yeah i know, but still there seems to be general consensus at which reverbs or compressors are better than others. These things feel most overwhelming as a "ex" classical musician while trying to learn producing edm. :)

Liquid Music now contains Liquid Rhythm and they're great, though I haven't scratched the surface using them.
Dev is helpful and answers email.
You could give demo a quick try and decide. Program lets you build songs in numerous ways and provides a slew of options choices and templates which you can mix and match.
Very inspirational, especially if you're in a rut.

Little Alterboy is just an effect, it's not a pitch correction package. The Eventide deal is interesting to a lot of people because it has some cool effects. It's not that cheap if you don't have any eventide plugins to begin with.

There are a lot of decent plugins in gold, but there are a lot of old plugins in gold. For me, that's not the thing to get from Waves. What I like from Waves are their more precise modeling plugs like the abbey road stuff, but, it's expensive and it's not really something you need when you're getting started. I wouldn't buy something just to get stuff if you don't know that you need at least some of that stuff.

Post

Thanks for the advice! Yeah. on black friday its easy to feel like you need to buy NOW all u could possibly need because its gonna be much more expensive for the next year :P. So you would recommend staying with the Ableton reverbs and learning more before getting anything else even its much more cheaper now?

Liquid Rhythm is very slow responding on my Cubase 8.5 rig. The interface stutters. I don't have issues with any of my other plugins except for Tantra which only misbehaves when I have 3 instances of it displayed at the same time (easily fixed by closing a window). I have lots of RAM (32 gigs) and I7 clocked at 4.5 ghz for 12 threads.

Apart from the sluggish interface I had a hell of a time getting used to the interface but persevered and did get some interesting results out of it for electronic and experimental material but I can't say I use it for more traditional drum programming. For $49.00 you might be happy with it. I give it is a "meh". Hardly a ringing endorsement.

Liquid music I thought contained only some of Liquid rhythm.
Your reply got me closer to pulling the trigger
thanks.

Do not have LIVE. Is that ok?

You don't say exactly what style you're producing, but it sounds like it's a dance genre. If you want to get better at producing, the first thing I would recommend would be tutorials from dancemusicproduction.com (especially the fundamentals series - start with drums II). It's not as immediately satisfying as getting a new toy, but they'll teach you how to use the plugins that you already have and the plugins you're going to get better - they teach production itself. I haven't found any other tutorials that can match them for depth or quality.

PhoenixVerb is very nice, and it's currently $49. I like Slate compressors and eqs a lot - you can get everything they make on subscription for $150 a year right now, $14.99 a month if you don't want to pay yearly, or you could pay $99 for a perpetual license for Virtual Mix Rack (on sale right now) which has 2 compressors and 2 eqs. For both PhoenixVerb and the Slate plugins you would need a physical iLok dongle, but you should be able to buy the licenses now and order an iLok whenever. Some people don't like the iLok software/hardware/drivers though.

It's going to depend on the exact genre - try loopmasters for your genre. I like to pick up big packs of drum one-shots that contain only the drum samples from lots of other packs that the particular sample company have put out. Like this pack of 12000 EDM one-shots http://www.loopmasters.com/genres/95-ED ... -One-Shots.

As far as Melodyne goes, you can pick up Melodyne Essential very cheap second-hand in the Sell & Buy forum, or you could get Waves Tune (which has more features than Melodyne Essential and is on offer for $59 IIRC right now).

Make sure you're getting the best price when you buy plugins - try audiodeluxe, plugindiscounts, jrr shop, everyplugin, etc - they're often cheaper than manufacturers themselves.
