Favourite bands that are past it??

There's too many...this band has almost consistantly released an album every year for the last 25 years!!!

that's why I asked in the first place...

I like powerful & melodic stuff that isn't clichéd - I already am in love with 'last things' but I now also listened to 'more and faster' which leaves me cold and 'megalomaniac' which I hate...

'Last here' doesn't fit into any particular genre - it is far from being clichéd or generic although it plays with several chlichés. It contains some great melodies, features a great female vocal performance (I don't care for the male singer - imo he's just generic and unoriginal while the lady reminds me of Dalbello) and it grooves like hell!

Is the any more like this or is it a one-off gem?

The latest Simple Minds album (Black & White) was heralded as a "back to form" - - - but its dire.

I think its finally stopped me listening to anything after 'Sparkle in the Rain' which now seems such a long, long time ago.
