couldn't say it better myself.Bronto Scorpio wrote:
Nostalgia also plays a big role. It's sometimes hard to stay objective.
Whatever Nintendo does, Super Mario World will always stay the best Mario game for me, even if there is nothing wrong with the new Mario games.

I was almost getting offended everyone was calling my music crap before they even gave it try! Though, granted, chances are you probably wouldn't like it, but it's not fair to judge so critically without a small taste first.
Anyways, I entirely agree that Nostalgia plays such a huge role in the "favorites game" (which might be better than Super Mario, mind you)
I don't like a lot of early 80's music because I don't have any memories to attach to it, just the music itself, and all I hear is usually very cheesy processing on most of the song (save a few bands I like, like The Chameleons)
And it would be a lie for me to say that I didn't TRY to like these bands, but I couldn't.
Anyways, I grew up at the end of the bits and in the with polygons, so I am pretty certain all my N64 games will be fun and always will be. And thanks to Nintendo shitting the same game out every chance they get, games like Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time won't become Nostalic memories for me, but actually still be the popular games they were back then...except now they come in 3D (and cause your eyes to explode) and have better texture resolutions, and all that stuff.
(too bad I lost my original Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask cartridges....I'm kind of sad about that.)
