Well you have the same problem with every plugin, don't you ? If they don't have the plugins that you use, you need to bounce the tracks.
I don't know what Akai will decide regarding VIP.

It is certainly true that if I use plugins that my collaborators don't, I would have to bounce... However, were I to use VIP, every track with VIP would have to be bounced, regardless of instrument. 
I'm definitely curious to see how it works out. The keyboard+software look pretty great otherwise.
