Kore with a keyboard anyone- those full size knobs are a great idea! If they have the software right this could kill (Komplete Kontrol!)

Yeah, the software must be excellent it will make it or break it.
I hate they only put 8 encoders, why? Is so expensive to put some more? Its really the thing holding a better UI experience with plug ins.

It doesn't need a wrapper, it loads directly as a plugin proxy.
rod_zero, it has 4 banks of 8 encoders and buttons.

yeah it obvious, as any other controller, it has banks. But why only 8 encoders? So limited for controlling a synth. I dont want to remeber where I mapped one parameter: it was page 2 or 3? and so you scrolling through banks.. .Big Tick wrote:It doesn't need a wrapper, it loads directly as a plugin proxy.

Everyone sticks to eight, the first one to come with 16-32 will have a winner.

It's always said that what makes hardware more fun than software is the tactile interface, and I kind of agree, I like to have parameters accesible easy or at least one push button away (as in elektron synths or ultranova).
Still midi controller manufactures insist in only give us 8 encoders...well I have Ableton Push (which by the way has 16 Banks) and this wouldnt add anything to my set up, sad because I like the concept.

any info about the price ?
the pre-order & info pages don't load
i was about give up and order the mpk 261 after trying out a lot of keyboards and the mpk261 being the one that i disliked the least - the display was a bad joke for its price point though
EDIT: found a price estimation on rekkerd
Advance 25, Advance 49, and Advance 61 will be available in early 2015 with an MSRP of £299.99 GBP, £389.99 GBP, and £469.99 GBP, respectively.

I can't comment on the price points, I'm not sure they're 100% decided yet.
I can talk all day about the software and HW though

i wish they'd give specific info on what software is included, as don't care for SONiVOX nor Prime Loops.
if this includes a few of the AIR synths i might be sold at that price point though

A plugin that loads other plugins. So you don't need to wrap them like in automap, you just load VIP into ableton, and VIP transparently loads the required plugin as you select presets from the hardware controller.
Hopefully Akai will clarify that, but I've been working on installers that include some of the AIR synths.if this includes a few of the AIR synths i might be sold at that price point though
