Is the Repro5 really happening?

You should buy Repro-1 first anyway, as it's not just 1/5 of Repro-5, and you'll want it.

This phrase is trademarked, please get my usage premisson first.zerocrossing wrote: Wait, are you allowed to be critical of Diva? Last time I was, Urs and his minions attacked. Be careful.

Love Diva, but, I do want that Uhe vintage poly with distortion per voice. Dirty pads get used to death in my stuff. I'll just hold down a chord until I fall asleep.

Repro-1 screams! I like it a lot. I was not going to buy it at first, although, with a coupon in hand, I did. It's definitely different than the rest of the U-he repertoire. Monophonic is hardly a deal breaker. I think you'll really enjoy it--especially if you're after a gnarly sound.Teksonik wrote:I wonder if it would be better to buy Repro 1 now and then pay for the upgrade to Repro 5 or just wait and buy the Repro 1 / 5 bundle ?
And as for the Urs shill minions ... KNOCK IT OFF!

You can't answer "yes" to a multiple choice question.EvilDragon wrote:It'll probably be better, yes. Probably.

I've already demoed Repro 1. Yes I want it but it just depends on when...lunardigs wrote:Repro-1 screams! I like it a lot. I was not going to buy it at first, although, with a coupon in hand, I did. Repro-1 handles a wider range of audio rate modulation than pretty much anything I know. That of course includes Diva, which keeps her ranges within the limitations of a different (more sweetspottish?) breed of vintage synthesizers.
No need to worry or call anyone names.

Sure, but not AS amazing as it is on RePro-1. Diva does many things great, but RePro-1 is a definitive step up.david.beholder wrote:Diva has amazing audio-rate modulation. Also I can't sell it

Thanks guys
I tried the demo last night and I hear it does some quite different sounds than Diva. Gotta look into that audio rate mod stuff. But wow - it is the master of arpeggios and sequences! I love arps and this has the arp that I was missing in Diva. It sounds really really powerful too. I can see that Repro 5 looks very promising.
Now I need to go and explore it some more...

The arpeggiator in Diva is actually more powerful than the one in Repro-1. I think what you mean is the sequencerSoarer wrote:Thanks guys

(When software synthesizers came about with arpeggiators that had some sort of pattern control, somehow the borders between arpeggiators and sequencers got blurred. Zebra, Podolski and FilterscapeVA are exemplatory for this, as their arpeggiator can be used much like a sequencer. So people often say "arp" when they actually mean "seq". As we have gone back to separating the two entities - Hive, Repro-1 -, we're striving for precise terminology.)
That said, an internal build of Diva once had a performance-orientated sequencer too. But it was maybe a bit too difficult to use because it lacked visual feedback and UI depth. Adding a sequencer isn't out of the picture, if we manage to dig out the old code and put some effort into development of visuals.

Great! please do!
The main thing in a good arp for me is quite simply the ability to turn on and off steps for the arp and I see that I can do this in the sequencer in Repro 1 when using both the arp and the seq together. One thing I miss is the synchronized start of an arp/seq when using it in "On Keys" mode (which I prefer over the "Always" mode). If you start a bit too late the arp you play doesn't sync.
