I'm wondering if Roger Linn in some of the latest videos in Ableton's Youtube channel is from old interviews or some kinda hint. Carla Scaletti too.
An Ableton+Linn+Scaletti product would be mind-blowing.
Joining power with the Cycling74 crew, Andy Cytomic, etc.
One can dream.

I'm just came here to tell you all how much I don't like Live and that Bitwig is the best, in a Ableton Live 10 thread. It's got LFO's dammit!

Anyone have any hint at what's new in the feature department? Given the veracity of the reports and assumptions.

Perhaps they'll call it Ableton More Live?Harry_HH wrote:According to that, the worst scenario, where most of the efforts have been targeted to the DJ- and live presentation, seem to be reality.

I don´t think that the focus for being the best live performance DAW should be an excuse totally neglecting to develop the tool according to the needs of the major user group of the product.dogzilla wrote:Perhaps they'll call it Ableton More Live?Harry_HH wrote:According to that, the worst scenario, where most of the efforts have been targeted to the DJ- and live presentation, seem to be reality.
I see often this happen in these pages. Live can (could) be the best performance tool AND a very good producer tool. I don´t see any near competition for the Live as a live tool, but if the Ableton chooses the way which now is obvious, it can loose many clients and the financial base to develop anything, neither live or studio tool, in the longer term.

You really need to relax, stop making worst case scenario assumptions, and just wait until some real, accurate information is available.Harry_HH wrote:According to that, the worst scenario, where most of the efforts have been targeted to the DJ- and live presentation, seem to be reality.

I´m totally relaxed, prepared the change the DAW if the Live´s pre-launch video proves to be a representative case what the ver. 10 will be.mholloway wrote:You really need to relax, stop making worst case scenario assumptions, and just wait until some real, accurate information is available.Harry_HH wrote:According to that, the worst scenario, where most of the efforts have been targeted to the DJ- and live presentation, seem to be reality.

Nicely spotted. Not sure how old those snippets are, but neither of those two are listed as being speakers or holding workshops at this year's LOOP summit. In fact I think most of the people in those videos aren't in this years LOOP summit ... doesn't mean it wasn't recorded recently though.pottering wrote:I'm wondering if Roger Linn in some of the latest videos in Ableton's Youtube channel is from old interviews or some kinda hint. A pity, after seeing that video but before looking at the LOOP 2017 program, I thought Roger Linn's appearance at this years LOOP would be a very strong indicator that LIVE 10 will feature full MPE support.

if that's the link that inspired this:
That glove is as much a compositional tool as it is a performance tool .... no more an indicator of 'most efforts being targeted to the DJ and live presentation' than someone using a midi keyboard and some faders.

Well, I have to follow your comments is this forum carefully in the future, and point out immediately if I see useless writing without any real support.
