I'm guessing that it has to do with retaining patch compatibility, and also because the VST likely is built from the RE assets.

If I am to speculate, I wouldn't be suprised if this release signals a solution for developers to release their REs as both RE, VST, and AU from the same source package. Pure speculation though.

I hope you're right - I've got my fingers crossed for a VST version of eXpanse :) Blamsoft told me a few months ago that a VST version wasn't currently planned but I imagine this would change things.

Hello! Stefan from Propellerhead here. Nice to see a good discussion about our latest release!

I just wanted to address the issue a few Mac users have been experiencing regarding entering the license number into Europa by Reason:

we have reproduced this problem - it happens if you don't have Write permissions to the global Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software folder.

The quick fix is to make sure you can write to this folder, either by changing the permissions for the folder, or by logging in as an Admin account.

The long term fix is that we should write the license to another folder - we'll look into it.

Sorry about the hassle!

I don't know but patch compatibility is the reason if you can access this function in the VST, otherwise what's the point?

Hi Stefan,
Is it possible to add a 'midi learn' function to the controllers?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

It's already possible since MOTU Digital Performer 9 .

So? Why not make it easy like in Massive:
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Great synth! Sound wise reminds me of Waldorf Largo. And great intro price too!

Hey!
I just learnt to jam with Reason. It's my magnum opus,
my current project I'm sure already.
One neat trick to get midi out of VSTs is to use loopMIDI,
which works if the VSTi/fx has a MIDI dialogue.

I have a question-
if I subscribe to a plan,
can I choose any of all REs?
Like any at all of all the devs?

Viva la Reason
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

Thanks, this fixed the authorization issue.

Can it load patches from Reason's Europa? Anyone care to post a zip of those? Would that be legal? Sorry, don't know, just asking.

You can. Europa VST is actually the same instrument as the RE (that's why there's some CV references that obviously won't work when it acts as a VST), so .repatch files can be loaded as expected.

If you're asking for a zip with the "factory" Europa's patches, there's no need, since those are still/already available in the Europa VST version.

Not everyone uses Digital Performer. :) In Cubase, for example, it's a total PITA to set up host side MIDI assignment. I never used it in Cubase, i always used the plugin's MIDI learn. Not necessary now in Studio One, but, i can well understand that people ask for it. Should be standard for every VST(i).

Would be nice to have a global option to change the red into some other colour. I like green, orange - not too saturated, more pastel-like. But.........
