Hey Peter nice track! Don't worry about being 14th - you beat me into 15th! So, like you, I am changing tack altogether with a glitchy experimental track which kinda resolves itself with some soaring pads!

It's going to be called "I Lost my Marbles"!!! Various reasons for the title …

Hm, shall I say that track is marbelous ;-) Hope it's not a severe condition we're talking about here?
And the "experimental to soaring pads" thing remids me of this: https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/the- ... bies...did you have contact with the techno aliens as well?

About being 14th or 15th - that's life, you're right and I see I'm in a good neighbourhood. But to be honest I'm a bit disappointed that some guys only do the same thing over and over again and stay on top with wobble-di-wob-wob...in my part of the world of creativiy this is not what people are looking for...I for myself think it's far more interessting to get into contact with techno aliens or bass music zombies from time to time ;-) And therefore I'm really looking forward to your track, Dr.B!

Thanks Peter - with you for a change of direction - here's the track as I will not be around much for Xmas from now on as I have to go away to visit my 94 yr old mum who lives 250 miles away on her own … the commercial FX were used because they are just easier to dial in the setups required. Also used Tantra and Outer Space because they were previous prizes!

I might make some "urgent changes" if needed - balance may be off as my right ear has decided to stop working properly - hopefully fixed for the New Year and the next OSC!

It's been a while, but couldn't resist using Noisemaker again - it's such a versatile synth!

17 instances of TAL Noisemaker
9 x Channel EQ
1 x Gain
1 x Compressor
1 x Multipressor
1 x Limiter

Please note that there are no audio samples, all the sound is produced through (sometimes very mathematically placed) MIDI notes.

Nice, now you made it before I finished my experiments with this kind of audio-to-midi-fft ;-)

Which Audio-2-Midi Tool did you use?
https://www.ofoct.com/audio-converter/c ... -midi.html
the program the following was made with?

Would you mind to share your tricks?

Post

Peter, you can use ReaTune to convert audio to midi using this trick.

Hey there!

I'm pretty happy with my arrangement and work still in progress. There is more than forty (40) instances of Elek7ro used at this moment (mostly drums). Noisemaker and commercial effects not used (and not planned to use).

Ha! Aliens and zombies, you should go listen to all my old contributions! I don't think I ever cracked the top 10, but I'm just an old tinkerer anyway...

@Peter: The greatest version of Staying Alive EVER! lol, and I like the BeeGees (my lunchbox in 1st grade proves it:)

Audio to midi in that form is interesting indeed...learn something new everyday!

I wonder if Melodyne could pull that off...it does polyphonic detection and midi conversion

@Exponent: Thanks for the heads up on ReaTune. I had no idea it could do that.

Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

I couldn’t find one that would do a limited polyphony matched-midi-pitch-per-frequency thing so I made my own and put it in GitHub, by no means perfect but did its job:

https://github.com/simpassi/audio2midi

It’s a very simple script that uses scipy and python-midi.

The most difficult part will still be having a synth react fast enough without chopping the waveforms. With polyphony you can’t really do portamento either. So there’s some filtering and a very careful amount of noise on OSC 1 too.

In a WIP sharing mood, as well. Been a labor of love, I suppose. The only things in tact from my original idea are the intro, some sound design and an obnoxious synth lead. Glad to see VCA-089 going long this month, too.
