I have deep respect for Sean's sound design, both in his taste and technical ability (the latter is nothing without the former!) Here is my first look at it going through some of the presets and giving my first impressions.

I use Valhalla plugins on literally all of my recordings. VintageVerb is my #1 go to plugin. Valhalla Delay is another favorite as well.Erisian wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 5:12 pm Does wonders for a guitar. Maybe I need to play more and find settings that I like. The number of people raving about Valhalla they must be generally pretty good.

Lowering feedback can lower decay time (but also can increase attack, depending on the algorithm). The delay time (“size”, if you will) corresponds to how long the reverb tail will last.Dirtgrain wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 4:46 pm Is changing algorithms the only way to control reverb tail length?

I already own VVV. Delay is good, but I'm not sure, that I really need it. I'm satisfied with my DAW delay + Reverse delay covers all I need from plugin like that. But I will think about it. Thank you.SoundPorn wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 5:04 pm Buy ValhallDelay, it was only widely considered the best plugin released last year and sounds amazing on everything. Or VintageVerb because it's as close to a must have as it get's with effect plugins. But seriously.
U-o wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 4:55 pm Is it possible to donate some money to Sean for this plugin? And if so, does anybody know how to do it? I already have VVV and there's no other Valhalla plugins on my wishlist, but this one really rulezzzz! For me it's more usable in my projects than VVV. Just few knobs, but it's amazing what it can do. In compare with other Valhalla free plugin (I mean FreqEcho) it's unbelievable, that it's free. In my opinion, it will be the best free plugin released this year.

I really like to create waves with it when using a midi LFO on the feedback.
It also sound really great when i automate tempo changes in my DAW.
Supermassive also works great together with my other favorite FX and it also can just add a decent amount of smear you just miss when you bypass it. Nice.

VintageVerb doesn't get much use anymore these days (replaced with either Nimbus or R4), but Delay is on every track and is a "must have" plugin, in my opinion.Synthient Sound wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 5:18 pmI use Valhalla plugins on literally all of my recordings. Supermassive is great as it is, but free = it's amazing.

I've been playing a lead patch on my Boog Model D through this and Shimmer and it's bloody lovely.
Btw I can't believe it's taken me nearly a year owning the Model D to realise I can crib patch settings from Arturia Mini V presets. D'oh!

Nice tones man. I would love a Valhalla guitar pedal to put on my board.Synthient Sound wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 5:05 pm I have deep respect for Sean's sound design, both in his taste and technical ability (the latter is nothing without the former!) Cool, I was studying these type of delay network effects lately and bam! ..this popped up, really cool!
Here's one classic effect doing similar stuff conceptually:
If the Space Station is classic, basic and 'primitive' (still useful tho) , the Valhalla one is modern, expansive and futuristic .. really cool!

My favourite multi-tap delay is D16's Tekturon - it's the easiest one to use IMO and gives really nice results, in fact all the D16 effects are worth a look, but I especially like the sequencer style interface on this
