This isn’t more frequent, it’s the same as normal and of course not every release will be for everyone, but this one just seems like ‘less stuff’. It certainly is not was I was expecting from the next release, but it’s no big deal either way…
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I think only few top most boring BW note devices works for vst and that does not counts. :D
Perhaps you should download the beta and try it before declaring what it does and doesn't do.

I just used Bend in front of u-he Hive and it worked.
I think it works on vst supporting MPE - and that is not the case of Zebra (and wont be I guess) - so boooring.
Nice try... but I just tested with Zebra and it works with Zebra too. :tu:

Slap a modulator on that bad boy and it's not the same for every note.

Also this works with notes that aren't on the piano roll, like live incoming MIDI and the results of other note FX. So that makes it pretty cool in my book. I can't draw automation curves for notes I haven't even played yet...
Plus you can modulate the Bend time and curve which you cannot do with automation... for example, by velocity.

I can also use a Note FX Layer and split incoming midi in various ways so some notes bend and others don't. It is quite powerful and flexible.
I just noticed that Bend also has a note delay option... so you can delay when the bend starts. Also modulate-able.

How did u set it up? I am using BW device very rarely .. so it would save me from hassles...

EDIT: 1 hour latter: I forget to turn on MPE.

So I find it is working and booooring, much useful would for me, if they would rather make Fine in Note Transpose device works.

Like it so far.
Still waiting for more audio editing features. You know the standard things every other DAW can do.

Post

….but every other DAW can’t do the main principles Bitwig is built around.

Just cannot believe the whining and entitlement of the internet sometimes.

Oh I want the note effects. Of course I wasn't paying attention and my subscription timed out about 2 weeks ago.

What are people doing in The Grid that isn't random type stuff? I know some people have said on here that they build pretty basic synths and what not but so far every time I hear or see someone using The Grid it's pretty random noise/glitch, "generative" and the like type stuff.

Absolutely loving the new Note FX so pleased can so easily control VSTs - can really get lost in randomised notes (constrained within a Key), randomised modulations, randomised Humanization and Dribbles !

Been inspired by Polarity's fantastic generative Bitwig videos using the Grid - so I had a quick go (hour or so nothing that exciting but was fun to do) at my first randomised/part generative ambient experiment earlier not using the Grid just using the new Note FX - please see below

each part I triggered with a single chord on my keyboard
into a latch, arp > randomize pitch and velocity > key filter > humanize chance > dribble (modulated with random modulator)

Yeah... and most of the pictures look like circuit boards in complexity!!

But I never build anything complex... I make synths mostly. The Grid is good for MPE cause you can make precise adjustments to incoming curves of velocity, pressure, timbre.

I also like using the Grid cause I can do stuff like layer the Sampler module with a Wavetable. Use the output of a Sampler module to FM something else and so on. All pretty simple stuff. I'd guess that 85% of my Grid constructs are not more than 20 modules, most of them simple stuff like mod-out etc.

Used in that way, I find it efficient with it using not much more time than a fixed vst synth. My default Poly Grid preset has modules like Pressure In -> Curve -> Mod Out, Velocity In -> Mod Out ready to go.

I use the Sampler module a lot in the Grid cause I can use whatever Env's and Filter's I wish. I also have more control over what gets triggered when... for example if you don't want played notes to trigger something.

Just Bend Device -> Zebra on a track.

Set Zebra to MPE on (in Bitwig Inspector)... and set Zebra pitch bend to +/- 48

Yep, I ve already found out :dog: Still, Glide 1 and 2 is much more useful and for me much more useful would also be, if Note Transpose device would work in Fine.
