HY Slicer 2 Rumors

REAPER, I know it can slice breakbeats natively but I don't like its piano roll and I want automatic speed tuning which it cannot offer AFAIK.

I really enjoyed rolling REX2 breakbeats in LiveSlice, 2 clicks and you got a new beat so a folder full of REX2's and it's sheer fun, too bad it's all too buggy.

Apparently GEIST2 does all I need even though it's long abandoned, will RTFM

Fair enough, I just tried MOMENTUM, it can only timestretch to the DAW BPM automatically and not tune up/down(à la SP1200), doesn't take REX2, doesn't have a built-in sequencer in order to rearrange loops so all has to be done in the DAW piano-roll but it won't provide the original MIDI sequence for the slices so not quite what I need.

Will try GEIST2 & also GROOVE AGENT, thanks for the tip!

If you are looking for a good slicer then try Speedrum 2. It has a sequencer as well.

Thanks for the tip, turns out GROOVE AGENT can slice, export a MIDI file of it and also allow plain single drum samples but for that feature I want to input a directory and roll the samples in a click, which doesn't seem possible sadly. It entirely is in BreakTweaker but I hate the GUI and I believe it's been phased out. Good side of GA is that it hasn't been cancelled.

Also, I want the drum roll to be inside REAPER so I can put/paste parts easily so basically GA is my only option.

Oh well, back to RX1200 coz it sounds good and dead-easy to use, RECYCLE has gone free so I might just go back to the old school way then

Thanks for the heads-up! it's actually fixed a problem I had with it in BespokeSynth, where the playback didn't start until you open the GUI. Now it's working

With this bug fixed and the new randomizer this thing is almost perfect, would love to have more tracks (8 instead of 5?) but I guess it will be problematic to do with this GUI...
