Colin , please
If the personal issues you're facing right now are of such a magnitude that development is put on hold , we have all the sympathy for that decision
Just say it and don't leave us hanging, release Architect as is .
We can't sell our version because no one will ever buy an unfinished beta knowing support is (mostly ) non existant .

Development is back on, I'm pleased to say, albeit at a slightly reduced pace. I don't really want to talk personal issues - I have mentioned the situation to some people in private, but as this doesn't solely concern myself I'm not happy to talk publically. But it's good to be getting back into working on the Loomer stuff, and I'm aiming to have the next releases of Architect and Sequent - both of which were a hair from the finish line - out.
Architect, the modular MIDI toolkit, beta now available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

I didn't imply you needed to inform us of your personal issues ,( that would be rather harsh and are NONe of my bussiness ) .colin@loomer wrote: Mon Oct 21, 2024 3:05 pm Development is back on, I'm pleased to say, albeit at a slightly reduced pace. When I wrote : "" say it ", I meant the future state of Architect .
Good you got your coding hat back on

I've been making very, very slow progress. Between juggling getting a few other overdue projects out (i.e, Shift update), and the fact that an unforseen lifestyle amendment has eaten terribly into development time, I've just not had the time to make the final push I need to get this done. It is still being actively worked on; just unfortunately, for the past few months, at a reduced pace. I'd rather it wasn't the case too, but it is still actively worked on and nudging towards completion. I am hoping that life will ease up coming into Christmas and beyond, so I will be able to dedicate much more time towards the 1.0 release.

I don't get it , why don't you just release the current version you are using , so we get the new goodies to play with and testdrive ?
Call this release 0.99 , after a couple of months of public testing and bug reporting ( because there will be bugs for sure) you can take all the time to release it as 1.0 .
I for one don't need a macro library ( which apparantly you have you put great effort into ), just give me a barebones architect to testdrive .

No news I suppose ?
Eitherway , I have gone 99% plug(pure) data for midi duties , no postponend promises , active development etc..
Sad to see this brilliant piece of software in the same state as 6 years ago , I have zero regrets buying Architect and supporting Loomer as a bussiness , but not again ..that's for sure .
Bye

Here is a verry simple example
In pure data the input stream range 0-100 is split across 4 moses objects
Moses splits the incoming range set by a treshold value , everything below that value is send at the left output , everything above that value goes through it's right output .
By serially connecting multiple moses instances we can get weighted values , example shows 25% for each moses ( left ) output
Since architect doesn't have a real equivalent ,we have to use logic compare modules and data branches and value modules for read out
It becomes a real mess , simple things like these have NOT been adresses for 6 years
It's a shame really .
Colin , just say something and no false promisses this time

As an early adopter I feel screwed , and it's impossible to resell because ..you know why ...

It's odd, kind of a chicken and egg thing where I think if there was a version with factory library it would bring more users/energy/money in. I bought a license years ago in the hopes of encouraging a release with factory library/macros. I understand the principles of DSP but could really do with some well-built examples to build on like in PD and Max/MSP.

I bought the beta on release six and a bit years ago and have been waiting patiently ever since for some higher level macros or whatever to have a play around with. I'm not smart enough to do much with all the low level stuff and really need some examples to deconstruct, etc. Here's hoping anyway
