Dune 3, Rapid, Hive, Massive X can do 4 oscillators at once. Also add to the list Avenger, Viper and Spire.
You can mimic feedback with a distortion in the filter. But indeed that one is tricky because its a rare that a distortions sound as great as analog.
As far as i know PhasePlant can do audio rate mod when filters are in effects section. Also you can have it poly aswel.
Emulations we are still missing 2023 edition

If he's trying to be the new BONES there are 2 issues:
1. Too nice to be a new BONES, not aggro enough.
2. The old BONES is still around. Think he'll have something to say about being replaced...

So please tell me those incorrect statements. So far they are all right and without argument you cant say i am wrong. I told you what you said wrong and i proved, you said im wrong but you didnt proved just acting like a childzerocrossing wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 6:08 pmIn the classical sense of making incorrect statements.Lbdunequest wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 6:07 pmAnd how i am wrong?zerocrossing wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 5:40 pmYou are totally wrong.Lbdunequest wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 5:10 pm Thats the thing i dont care about brasses and other typical sounds, but i got the view most of the guys care about those.

Yeah, why I suggested doing something like a “Prophet ULTRA” that covered a bunch of Dave’s Curtis based synths made in the 00s. I mean, I’m sure the Evolver sold more units than something like an EMS Synthi, but it came at a different time, and it didn’t have someone like Pink Floyd making some epic track from it, so it never got the same attention. The ‘08 was easier for people to understand and carries the name of other classic synths, so that would help in the marketing. It used the same chips as the Evolver, so you have the filter and DCOs. The LFOs and envelopes are all software anyway. So, by making an Evolver emulation, you basically have a Prophet 08, since it’s just a subset/rehash of a lot of what is in the Evolver.vurt wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 6:00 pmcheerszerocrossing wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 4:18 amIt’s definitely a bit cultish, but you’re right, it did harken the trend of analog and hybrid hardware comeback that we’re currently enjoying. Also, like some proto-mammal, it branched off into many sub species. A smart emulation of the Evolver could also be a MoPho, Prophet ‘08, Tempest and REV2.DrGonzo wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 3:36 amA bit cultish yeah. Maybe not as much as the Buchla - and that found its way to the V Collection so you really never know.vurt wrote: Sat Jun 10, 2023 6:06 pm i too like the evolvers, but where they a universally loved product? as in, guaranteed to sell lots of licences? or are they more cultish?
Looking back it feels like the Evolver marked the point when developers started to move back to hardware again after years of plugin-mania.
like i said, don't really follow media, and the only synth people i know is you lot, here in my home town what i do, is akin to witchcraft to some of my friends. they mostly stopped listening to music around justice for all... or at least anything new, just the same old rehashed rock and metal.
synths and drum machines are the work of the devil.
they don't quite have who's side the devil is on right, but all the headbanging probably messes you up at 50.
and of that list, id say the prophet is the one most around here (kvr) mention. which is why i wondered if evolver was worthwhile from a devs pov, saleswise.

Make a capture of it in TONEX. The distortion will sound exactly the same. I made a library like this for IK (just waiting for them to work out the licensing system so I can release it) and it worked great.Lbdunequest wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 5:10 pm You can mimic feedback with a distortion in the filter. You’re so wrong, I’m not going to even bother wasting my time going though it again, but if three oscillators is the same as 4 oscillators to you, and you don’t understand the difference between a unison oscillator and a full separate oscillator, then you’re going to need a full bottom up education, and I just don’t have that kind of time. I encourage you do start studying the differences between synthesizers, because you clearly don’t understand it on anything beyond a basic level.Lbdunequest wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 6:24 pmSo please tell me those incorrect statements. That’s fine, really. There’s lots of things I don’t care about either. Brown alcohol, for instance. I hate it, and I couldn’t tell you the difference between whisky or bourbon, much less a well brand whisky vs. an aged peat filtered whatever. I don’t like any of them, and I don’t care.
But I also don’t go on whiskeyaficionado.com and start telling members that the bottle I got from Costco is the same as their favorite high priced bottle. I could explain to them that they both have the same alcohol content and get you just as drunk, but I’d be clueless about the actual differences, and seem dumb. You seem dumb to me. I know you’re not, but that’s how willful ignorance often appears. It’s fine to just say you don’t care about the difference between synths, so I’d try that if I were you.

See, here we go. If you think a filter with distortion is the same as actual feedback, even if the distortion is captured/modeled perfectly, then you do not understand what feedback actually sounds like.Uncle E wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 7:49 pmMake a capture of it in TONEX. The funny thing is people do exactly this on alcohol aficionado sites (not whiskeyaficionado.com, that doesn't existzerocrossing wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 7:54 pm But I also don’t go on whiskeyaficionado.com and start telling members that the bottle I got from Costco is the same as their favorite high priced bottle.

Oh, I'm sure you're right, I'm just offering a cool way to emulate a portion of what Evolver has to offer.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 7:56 pm See, here we go. Most of the tools I'd like to see cloned are digital and had an amazing sound and workflow. The sounds of analog are not super sought after by myself and I can build something if I really feel I need it, but an insanely accurate Nord modular G1 and G2 that would run with full recall and no cables would make my day. Also having kyma port their DSP over to run inside a plugin along with their nifty interface would be super rad.
Honestly I'm as happy as I've ever been with the state of sound generating tools.

Now we just need to find someone who is willing to make captures of an Evolver at various drive and feedback settings. It won’t be the same, but I bet it would be cool anyway.Uncle E wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 8:13 pmOh, I'm sure you're right, I'm just offering a cool way to emulate a portion of what Evolver has to offer.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 7:56 pm See, here we go. One cool thing about Tonex is it reacts to the input volume you give it. I've found that (with guitar amps, at least) I don't need to capture every gain level, I just need to capture the maximum gain level and then turn down the input level. I'd be happy to do it if I had an Evolver, it only takes a few minutes of set up time (the computer has to work on it for hours but that's all automatic).zerocrossing wrote: Sun Jun 11, 2023 9:32 pm Now we just need to find someone who is willing to make captures of an Evolver at various drive and feedback settings. Actually don't care for them much at all. And in the realm of 7 and 9, those seem most suited toward the algorithmic operators. I really don't understand why any developer limits their plugin with a 4 op engine. I've been hoping a bit for Biotek to add 1-3 more to correct that weakness.
