Sorry, that video was just a general teaser for u-he as a brand... we didn't even think about what it might suggest, since we had only recently updated all the products in the vid... next time we'll think about it.MartyK wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 5:27 pm Nothing new for Diva and Hive? The teaser from U-he on YouTube suggest this. Apart from that, I find Zebra 3 very exciting.

A huge congratulations for Urs and his team. I still very distinctly remember 2012, during The Dark Knight Rises, when ZebraHZ had come out, Diva was making waves, and the first whispers of Zebra3 had happened. It's been a very long journey to say the last, but it's insane that the first alpha build is finally real. Looking forward to see what comes next.

It's a shame, but thanks for the answer. I hope that Diva gets more filters and that Diva and Hive are definitely developed further because they are among my favorite plugins (as are RePro 1 and 5)!Urs wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 5:36 pmSorry, that video was just a general teaser for u-he as a brand... we didn't even think about what it might suggest, since we had only recently updated all the products in the vid... next time we'll think about it.MartyK wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 5:27 pm Nothing new for Diva and Hive? The teaser from U-he on YouTube suggest this. Then I'm really looking forward to Zebra 3 next time...

Are you not part of the alpha/beta testing team for Zebra 3?bmanic wrote: Sat Jan 25, 2025 5:16 am Wow wow wow!! The workflow looks awesome! Well done for putting a lot of effort on that part.
This looks like an absolute beast of a synth!
I really like your presets for other synths and effect plugins and hope you will be.

Hi Urs and team,
congrats for such nice development!
I have a small suggestion:
Could you consider adding a mandatory dry/wet parameter to the "universal" filter module? I assume that a wet-control gives a lot more possibilities for coloration, e.g. a bandpass filter turns into various peak filter types...
A by-pass/parallel-dry routing on the matrix would lack of a (direct/easy) gain control, correct?
So if the connections in the matrix would each have a gain parameter (and panning) itselves instead (e.g. a mouse handle could popup, if the pointer stays still on it for some time, providing a drag-n-drop volume fader e.t.c.), all modules could profit from such a routed dry/wet amont.
You also could introduce a "connections-only-edit-mode" into the matrix, by holding shift or so, to make grabbing easy as possible.

Didn't Urs mention that some of the physical modeling parts could (maybe) end up in Zebra 3?
I can imagine that Zebra 3 could be really nice for drum synthesis. In many DAWs you could create a drum device where you have to load in one plugin instance per note. It's not as convenient as having it in one UI / plugin (as in the video), but then, you could do drum synthesis in any way you like, not just physical modeling.

Urs mentions modal synthesis and Karplus-Strong/comb filter in the Zebra 3 video above, so there is physical modeling in there. (If not: Urs, to help!Fannon wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 8:13 am Didn't Urs mention that some of the physical modeling parts could (maybe) end up in Zebra 3?

Honestly, I know that Zebra3 won't start off as feature rich as Zebra2, but considering all the goodies it's getting that Zebra2 doesn't, like vector synthesis, I'm starting to change my mind!

It's very unfortunate, we had to bury this project. After three years and starting over twice, it was starting over again because nothing modelled could ever compete with samples drums. We tried to salvage models for Zebra 3, but found that different methods of modelling get us a lot more diverse and interesting sounds for Zebra 3.

The new Oscillator with OSC FX and the Additive Renderer mode alone are a huge addition. You can already check it out in Zebralette 3. It took me a bit to get into Zebralette 3 to be honest, because the limitations of it (no filter) force you to understand the new osc + osc FX to a certain level. But it's really worth digging into this and a good preparation for Zebra 3!Shiek927 wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 3:39 pm Honestly, I know that Zebra3 won't start off as feature rich as Zebra2, but considering all the goodies it's getting that Zebra2 doesn't, like vector synthesis, I'm starting to change my mind!
