I found that it works better if you use toasted rather than untoasted bread.

I swear i heard someone mention making of beds too.. but i guess thats a demo restriction, and so also the toast making bit. AMD's will deffinately give a better color to your toast.

Although I agree that T2 is a nice product and I like the overall design philosophy, I'm a little concerned about a product that is developed and supported by only one person. This has nothing to do with Jules individual capability...he is obviously a "superprogrammer". But I'd like to see him have the ability to design and delegate some coding responsibility to accelerate the evolution of Tracktion. I'd like to hear RMS, Mackie or Jules comment on what plans are for the future.

Just had a Cubase poweruser in here drooling over the different schemes. Liked it so much he's afraid to try the T2 demo on his own! He could leave his ten year relationship with Steinberg just for this pretty young face, er, faces. I was worried that he'd think the MIDI editing was too crude for his bloated tastes, but after a few minutes, he was, "Wow! I can make this look like *my* program. I want it!" And so do I. Even if I have to buy in a store. How 80s is that?

After a few hours with the demo I don't think it's a *massive* dissapointment. Just a sweet evolution. Sure, I'd like 'proper' timestretch, better clip automation, more flexible freeze, folder tracks and few other things, but as they say, you gotta leave them wanting more.

I just want to BUY it NOW!!! So the time for complainting is over. Now is the time for protesting!

I totally agree with the disappointment; Mackie people have to take a look to others top host in the market...another companies have included in their new versions some T1 features which were the key of the T1 success (ex. cubase)....but T" have to "learn" some things from others host to really get a full upgraded version. Take a look what happened with Muzys....a new and original host....but finally lost...¿why?.
A long list of free plugins does not add value because you can get this long free plugins list in the web, even better....
Midi improvements?????, yes in case of midi parameter editions, but what about midi notes editing features....same as old.
What about T1 plugings...(sampler, effects,...) the same old thing without any modification / improvements...
Does T2 really justify T1 users payment to upgrade it ???? Not for me.....

(I know it's ot but) why? If you know what has happened to Muzys then spill the beans - because everyone else at kvr can just guess (the most recent guess is that NI bought it) - o.k. we know it has kinda be bought but we don't know by whom and on what terms...

So please enlighten us: what has happened to Muzys?

1. Satisfied and waiting to buy/upgrade.
2. Semi-satisfied, waiting to buy/upgrade and wait for fixes/features to mature. Find workarounds when necessary.
3. Unsatisfied but watching future versions to give you what you need.
4. Unsatisfied and moving on.

I'm fitting in #2. Things I'm not satisfied about I've been aware of for months. But T2 improves T1 enough to make it a good fit for me and I'll mess with the demo until it is released and probably buy it. But I'm done complaining.

Put me down for number #3 if you would be so kind, sir....

Mark me as a 2, possibly 3 (investigating alternatives).

I was generally happy with the feature list when it was announced, but am shocked that the MIDI note drop and Rewire bugs still aren't fixed, hence doubts now.

By the way, there is no way I could have known that prior to the demo. Beno had previously said that the major bugs in T1 were dealt with and I assumed that included these ones, as they have been the most frequently reported/discussed here at KVR.

I agree the difference is not that huge and that tracktion 2 could have been tracktion 1.7 (a long time ago ??? )

The problem is that there are differences and now i don't want to use T1.6 anymore so i will have to buy it...
So #2 for me.

Tracktion is still the host i feel the most confortable with.

Cannot Mackie employ a 2nd guy to work on Tracktion ?

Is there any agreed 'standard' on what constitues a major release?

I guess some unscrupilous companies will market every release with a new X. number just to make it look better.

I mean, T had major new feature like the automation, tempo changes, racks etc. without moving from version 1. Is it a time thing? After so many new features have been bolted on it gets bumped up a number?

I'm not sure what I'm saying... I guess the fact the old bugs are still there means we're talking the same codebase (obviously... ) so maybe this should have been 1.7 like ixox said?

Obviously an awful lot of other stuff going on too with the update too so maybe it's justified...
