Just as you can back up the setup files, you can back up the key file and use it on another machine. This is how we can email key files and you can run SynthMaster on an offline machine.Gam456 wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 11:49 am Simple.
If kv331 shut down. We won't be able to use SM anymore on a new workstation or if we need to install from scratch with a fresh OS.

Challenge/Response usually involves generating a unique id for a machine and then generating a key that only works on that machine.kv331 wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 2:08 pmJust as you can back up the setup files, you can back up the key file and use it on another machine. What you're describing is simple license key (file) activation. That's much more user friendly

It's somewhere in between C/R and license key activation. If there is internet connection and if our server is up, the license key downloaded/copied is replaced with a license key that matches the computer id, and we keep track of on how many machines a user authenticated the software.Held wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 4:44 pm What you're describing is simple license key (file) activation. We are not strict on the number of activations though. We just have an internal check on the server, if a user performs too many activations in a short period of time, the server sends us an email to double check that user.

If you could get a latch-mode on an iOS version's arpeggiator, using the phone/tablet keyboard could be fun and useful. That feature makes using the UNO a ton of fun. I have a Samsung androidal tablet for my Nux Mighty Plug ampsim gizmo's editor, having a synth on it would also be cool. I saw where I requested a latch-mode for SM One back in 2017...time is on warp speed!kv331 wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 9:50 amIt would be much easier for me to release an iPhone version of SynthMaster 3, with at least preset browser & macros available.glokraw wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 8:20 am Creating a small hardware unit, along the lines of IK's original UNO synth, but with the Synthmaster 3 sounds, an SD slot, and 5pin midi ports for legacy in-out-through connections, would be very tempting. People could use existing midi controllers and hardware synths, blending favorites with the new SM3 sounds and capabilities.

We have HOLD button on SM1 / SM2 / SMP iOS, for that purpose.glokraw wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 12:43 pm If you could get a latch-mode on an iOS version's arpeggiator, using the phone/tablet keyboard could be fun and useful. In Reaper 7.34 using SynthMaster3 v.3.1.2 15937 the tempo marker changes don't work.
Other plugins and synths either on the same project or another project change the BPM as per marker settings but SynthMaster3 doesn't.

The default DAW setting for tempo doesn't work. The tempo marker changes are ignored.kv331 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 6:33 amThanks for the bug report, I will debug this.DarkS474 wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:22 pm In Reaper 7.34 using SynthMaster3 v.3.1.2 15937 the tempo marker changes don't work.

If I set MIDI Clock it correctly changes tempo.
I can manage to use multiple tempos anyway using subprojects in Reaper however it should change tempo with the default DAW setting too...
Could it be possible to have a per-instance tempo setting instead of a global one ?
I can have XLN XO and other VST plugins for example with their own internal BPM tempo setting that is per instance/track and not a global one.
It would be useful to have a per-instance tempo setting option. Not all DAWs allow subprojects like Reaper does.

It is indeed per instance. We get it from the DAW while in the VST2/VST3 processing function.DarkS474 wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 9:52 pm It would be useful to have a per-instance tempo setting option. Not all DAWs allow subprojects like Reaper does.

Are there plans to port SM3 to Android, too? I recently abandoned iOS devices, since too expensive and also too locked-in. I have no idea though, if Android still has problems with low audio latency and so on, is it yet based on JAVA?

No. We need to spend our remaining money wisely, and Android is not a wise investment yet. iOS, particularly iPhone, would allow us free advertising globally so that maybe our desktop sales would go up a little bit letting us survive...Hanz Meyzer wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 7:18 am Are there plans to port SM3 to Android, too?
