It was 19.99 GBP/year (around $2 per issue) on Pocketmags this Cyber Monday as I already told you at that time. Grabbed it instantly!

That's almost three times as much as 7.27. I know that it's not much, but we have to make choices.
It was $23. I'm not waiting months to save pennies so I don't agree on this. The price is fair to me.

I just add another year each time I see a subscription sale at under $1 per issue. I'm set until September 2018 for now.

Yeah, I noticed that as well, but the code doesn't work for Spark. Spark does use a different checkout interface, though. Maybe they forgot to clue in a third party service provider.

Very good. The main idea is that it doesn't worth anyone's time to hunt for months or lose current copies just to save $10... time is money after all. But anyway.

Absolutely, that's why it's handy to just add another year when a $1/issue sale pops up. Easy peasy.

I don't hunt for months man, I just don't subscribe. This isn't something where there is a wrong or right answer. The value to me is the only thing that I need to consider in my decision. If I can't get it for $1 or so per issue, then I will buy once or twice a year at the right time. I buy when there's a really good value, e.g., Red Suite.

You're right, it's not worth my time to hunt, and it's not worth it to me to subscribe if it's more than $1 an issue. YMMV.

Yep, I purchased one about 5 years ago, I love that thing, I sometimes bring it out at gatherings for conversation depending on the crowd, (I'm a retired Electro-Mechanical contractor, worked hard and sold my business, retired in my early 40's, time is the true wealth in life... in my opinion)
when I first got the 'kill-a-watt' I measured every single electrical device in my house and made a chart that I still use, I know when to use the toaster-oven vs. micro-wave and the perfect temp. setting for my fridge and the defrost cycle etc.., I even know how much it cost to make ice LOL.
as a result I'm anal about keeping things turned off around the house, studio and workshop but the way I have my PC setup it draws less than 30 watts when I'm not using it (I refuse to use hibernation) I keep it running 24/7 because 1.) I'm always working on a project and 2.) I never know when inspiration will strike, so it's worth the little extra cost to me.

Sure, start the thread then and/or just PM me. Also, no reason to be nervous there are many ways you get warnings if the SSD is failing 'more than it should' like slowing data transfer rates, corrupted data, increase in number of bad sectors etc. plus any reputable drive will have S.M.A.R.T built into it and to put you at more ease SSD's today are more reliable than HDD's. One metric for measuring reliability is "annual failure rate" and many studies have shown that to be low for SSD's (annual failure rate of tenths of one percent) while HDD's were found to be around 4 to 6 percent. A nice chunk of this better percentage is because SSD's have no moving parts. I could keep going, the geek runs deep in me but this is not the place for this. Last thing... dude, back up! its so easy, cheap (very good free software too), set it up and forget, losing all of my work/creations would send me into depression.

I wrote them and they responded that Spark is "already heavily discounted." So, they are definitely playing loose with the word "everything."

We calculated that my buddy who also ran his PC 24/7 for about the last 15 years, probably spent about $200-$250+ per year on electricity. X 15 years. OMG. What a waste. He could have had quite a collection of samples and instruments for that by now. I don't want to know how much I lost over the years on wasted idle and phantom power. Do yourself a favor and become efficient. Powerstrips in every area of your home and studio. Flip them off when not in use. Spend the savings here.

I keep my PC on 24/7 but do turn the audio monitors and display monitor off after kill-a-watt testing them.

The audio monitors were drawing 60 watts idle. A light bulb each.

My old AMD system was left on 24/7 and kept my bedroom a bit warmer in the winter.

The newer Intel CPUs really spin down A LOT more though..
