I'm really liking Hive, but one problem I've found is that the vinyl noise is simply too darn loud. It tears my head apart when I'm trying to be creative and gets me frustrated... :/ NO bugs yet though.

There's a code you can input from the download area of the first page of this thread.dasan90 wrote:I'm really liking Hive, but one problem I've found is that the vinyl noise is simply too darn loud. edit: It's right below the download links
You have to put the name in, then the code. I missed it too, until I was told by someone.
Now no crackles until March1st

If you change portamento "Time" to "Rate" it takes longer the further away from a key you are.dumbledog wrote:U-NO-LX Update: PWM is fixed, LFO fully implemented.
Portamento is done as well as I understand it, but Hive's glide is considerably different from Hive's. Uno's glide has an option to only activate when keys are overlapped (something sorely lacking in Hive imo, I really like it), and the glide time goes much, much longer. It also takes longer the further away from a key you are, unlike Hive which always has a constant time (keyfollow may help but not enough I think).
Cheers,
Joseph

Will you be doing a soundbank for Hive? ^___^hollo wrote:If you change portamento "Time" to "Rate" it takes longer the further away from a key you are.dumbledog wrote:U-NO-LX Update: PWM is fixed, LFO fully implemented.

I'm really growing to like this synth. It has the simplicity of programming something like Diva (a little more simple actually), with a very easy to deal with CPU count. This will be getting a lot of use! I await Urs' return to development. I'm definitely buying a copy.

No prob!
Let me know what needs to be improved as I want to do an update with some tweaks. I think the timbre is fine as it is -- maybe a bit brighter than TAL but I'm okay with it -- but I want to get rid of the clicks that are plaguing the gated patches, either mod the pitch LFO via envelope or pressure 'cause man it's terrible, and fix the glide as hollo suggested.
I also did a test run in Diva, dialing in the same parameters as in Hive for a patch or two and was pretty happy with the results. Not the same as Hive or TAL, but still cool. I'm also looking into some, er, intelligent patch morphing or whatever in Hive. I run out of mod slots if I try to tweak everything, but not everything is modded every time so I can compact things a bit.

But it's not lacking in Hive. Set 'Mode' (in the top bar) to 'Legato'.dumbledog wrote:Uno's glide has an option to only activate when keys are overlapped (something sorely lacking in Hive imo...)

Have a nice holyday Urs!
I guess many was asking before, but i keep finding myself sweeping the tune knob when in Noise mode, hehe - nothing happen - it would be nice.
Some new: there is 2 separate window for Osc tuning. One for Oktave and one for Semitones.
Would it be possible to modulate them separately: like i could use a random LFO to modulate
only the okaves without disturbing the semitones? It would open a lot of chance without
any new button on the screen.
Naturally waiting the FM to happen and new waveforms, but mostly curious about the WIP
window. Hoping some graphical wiew and edit for shapes of Env, Lfo...
Congrats for all the new presets and the sound designers in it! So many great stuff

Hi Urs
In addition to Josephs request with there also be a HARD SYNC option with the oscillators to help create a harder punchy bass? I am in a situation where i gonna have to sell my Diva in favor of getting Hive as my Dual Core 3 ghz pc is really battling with Diva although i bought her just for bass options, eventhough with Tyrell and with ACE i can still do a decent production on this Machine

The notes you don't play creates the silent gaps for you to hear the notes you do play

Was going to say that I didn't think TAL had a legato mode but after trying it out that's actually precisely what Portamento I does, TAL just doesn't call it legato for whatever reason. Cool, I'll try to do an update tonight.Howard wrote:But it's not lacking in Hive. Set 'Mode' (in the top bar) to 'Legato'.

"speed" might be a good one.. But "rate" works for me.dumbledog wrote:Oh sweet! I thought rate would be tempo-based. The wording should be changed to "key" or something then. Thanks much!
