Hadnt realised it could be used as a Euro module as well as standalone, so that's kinda interesting.
Its also the second thing Ive bought recently that's come with a little PCB logo/keyfob type thing alongside the stickers and stuff, the Befaco FXBoy had one of those as well. Interesting wee micro-trend.

Finally received my big keyboard stand, took months to get here
. In the process of moving stuff around now but unfortunately work is getting in the way - New Year and I'll finish the job. First look says I can get a few of my desktop units on that stand - Wasp, Cat, K2 all on one level, both Korgs - Wavestate and Opsix should fit on a 2nd level, Monopoly & MS5 on a 3rd level, UBXa on the bottom. It'll make room on the other stands, might even give me room to dust off the old Juno106 and put it back in - which means I'll have to buy more stuff to fill the gaps
.

It feels really odd spending hundreds on something that doesn't even make a sound, but really useful for the studio

Rad that you've decided to play your UBXA with your toes. Perfect for playing "Jump". Great for fast runs, too. You'll be like Geddy Lee except with polyphonic aftertouch.

I have been assured that I have chimpanzee genes in my genealogy, so quadrapedal play is second nature to me. TBH, playing with my feet is probably better than anything I play with my fingers
. Maybe I should play the top shelf with my head as well and make it a 5-fold cacophony, I'm sure I could nut out some decent chords?

Your Juno 106 has a bad filter board. Just letting you know.kritikon wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 6:36 am Finally received my big keyboard stand, took months to get here. TBH I think the diagnosis for my 106 is "f**ked". Possibly not beyond all recognition, it's definitely fixable just not by me
. It's still got 4 voices though, which is enough for my level of...ahem....skill.

Don’t worry about that. Use the sub in unison and it’ll sound almost as good as Model 84.

The worst way that they fail is that the VCA sticks open and you always have this very low drone note of keys that you aren't playing.kritikon wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 5:31 pm TBH I think the diagnosis for my 106 is "f**ked". Just branch out into ambient drone music. Problem solved!ghettosynth wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2024 2:27 amThe worst way that they fail is that the VCA sticks open and you always have this very low drone note of keys that you aren't playing.kritikon wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 5:31 pm TBH I think the diagnosis for my 106 is "f**ked". A boxing day sale went off early where I am...I found it about 4pm on christmas day.
I stumbled across an Hydrasynth Deluxe (73 keys, double hydra engine etc) at the no-brainer price of $1499 AUD...
I'm kinda sorta expecting an apologetic email from StoreDJ, telling me that it was a huge accident and I can't possibly have one at that price...
Fingers eyes and toes crossed...

Brit surprised me yesterday...

I had Cascadia and Metropolix on my list for a while and I'm so stoked. I actually performed a set with this configuration plus my MFB Tanzmaus and Analog Heat, only hours after unboxing this stuff. It was a bit harrowing since I had to learn the Metropolix's menus on the fly but I was applauded for my boldness.
Luckily it was just a 10min set at our open-mic. It was a little rough but could have been much worse.
Cascadia sounds fantastic! Someone bristled when I compared it favorably to the Cwjeman S1mk2 but I stand by it. Very clear sound that can get aggressive but still maintains its punch when under heavy distortion and FM. It kinda reinforces my suspicion that Intellijel stuff sounds best in a mostly Intellijel system.

Well, that looks fun! I’m guessing Brit wants you to be preoccupied for a while. I’d be very suspicious…

Lol, I think she got me the Analog RYTM the year before we started our big kitchen remodel. I wonder what she has in mind this time?
I gave her a chainsaw for christmas, so whatever her intentions, I better behave myself!
