Well, I think it's fair to say that the module is a fat bastard. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!Constructed Identity wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2024 2:55 amHmm... well first test is in and... I don't think I will ever sell the E490ghettosynth wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2024 2:43 amWell, as it stands you could have paid to deworm 500 children. However, if you sell it on reverb for $1250 you could then pay to deworm 2500 children. I'm not judging here, you do you.Constructed Identity wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 11:57 pm you think, should I try to flip it on Reverb for 5X the price? ($1250)

Behringer Kobol Expander with its filter all the way open/resonance at zero going through the Synthesis Technology E490 with sweeps of cupoff at : 0 resonance, 11-o-clock resonance, and about 1:30pm (and I don't think I want to go further).

There was an English guy years ago who claimed his debilitating asthma went away when he caught hookworms. If true, it means you guys are flirting with inflicting asthma upon thousands of kids, although I'm pretty sure it was all a scam for him to get people to buy his hookworm pills (which consisted of his own fecal matter).

I had a friend who worked on fecal transplants for treating C. difficile. It's almost miraculous in success rates. They freeze dry the poo BTW so it's not so nasty.

So I have 60hp open on my rack that I thought would go to something from Moog, but I should consider other ideas for that space...
Like getting a Joranalogue Collide 4 and a Cycle 5 to go with it. Then I would have 34 hp left for -

Behringer Wave has arrived for pre-order.
£569 at Andertons. Very tempted, seems a very good price, but will hold off to see what users say on the delivered units first, too pricey for a pre-order for me before knowing exactly what I'd be getting.
Warning: this fella's a bit much

Noise Engineering announced new modules/firmware for their interchangeable platforms (I beta tested them):
Ampla Legio: multimode gate with envelope. It's good, but for my own needs I went back to Librae since I'm trying to get a better feel for it, rather than end-of-chain VST effects for compression/saturation.
Fala Versio: formant filter with folding & distortion. Beautiful and/or gnarly! It relieved my desire for a Djupviks Box of Angels. This is probably going to stay on my second Versio for quite a while.
Toros Iteritas Alia: FM drone monster with unique algorithms. One of them is a feedback loop with three operators. "Blendex" knobs crossfade each operator between being a carrier and being a modulator... it's clever and it sounds awesome. It's my favorite NE oscillator at this point, beating Manis and Cursus and Ataraxic.

vurt talking about Synthux's Audrey II prompted me to pick up something Ive been after for a while; kit version of their Touch 2 device. done the soldering, but Im a bit knackered so will flash firmware and test tomorrow. pretty easy build thoughless than 90 minutes.
Hadnt realised it could be used as a Euro module as well as standalone, so that's kinda interesting.
Its also the second thing Ive bought recently that's come with a little PCB logo/keyfob type thing alongside the stickers and stuff, the Befaco FXBoy had one of those as well. Interesting wee micro-trend.

What's a 'melody'?

A D chord, major or minor, with the lowpass cutoff turned down, a somewhat slow attack, and a long release.whyterabbyt wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 9:49 amphatnik wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 6:10 am "Every time you want to buy new gear, learn a new melody instead" (Paul Gilbert)
