I Have a fully licensed copy of PowerISO. I was wondering if I had something mounted but I don't see anything there.

Looking at Disk Management I can see a 'Virtual CD (Z: )'. I have no idea what the hell that is.

I tried installing the x64 Version of UVI but it fails:

The wizard was interrupted before PACE License Support Win64 could be completely installed. The system has not been modified etc.

After unplugging a few things, it seems that my external USB laptop fan is showing as 'Virtual CD (Z: )'. Mental or what?
Yes it's probably a virtual CD thing.
I'll check Monday with daemon tools, a free tool for virtual CD, see if I can reproduce this.

Regarding PACE, it's probably because you already installed it.

Yes, it's definitely safe. The new iLok desktop software is really easy to use and I've had no problems at all activating various new UVI purchases in the last two weeks.

Thank you Olivier for taking the time out on a Saturday. Much appreciated.

I've uninstalled x86 and x64 now. Restarted Laptop. Reinstalled x86.

I have a lot of cables hanging out of this Laptop. It's a bit of a rats nest. On checking again I discovered that this 'Virtual CD Drive Z' is my USB Flash Drive' for my Waves, Overloud, Plugin Alliance Plugins. Silly me. :)

The error message for the standalone x86 again:

There is no disc in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk1\DR1.

Followed now by a new error message:

There is no disc in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk2\DR2.

The VSTi is working and I don't really use the Standalone that much so I'm happy enough for the time being. Would be good to have those loading errors squashed at some point though. :tu:

Thanks Skorpius. I was every so slightly terrified of installing the new iLok manager but it seems to be working well.

I'm off to make some music now. See ya :)

I've found that
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330137/en-us

We have added a check in a recent version in oder to not display removable drive with no content in the browser as it crashed on some computer so we now check for the content availability, so it's probably related.
I'll see if we can find a way to check for this without triggering the message you're seeing.

Thanks for the report.

Hi all ! I really like UVI workstation , i used an old version and so i downloaded the last 2.1.5 update today on my XP !

I also got this problem with Pace ILok but found " a solution " not the best one for sure but it works now . i uninstalled everything about Pace Ilok and Interlok and cleaned all with regedit ! I've installed the ILok manager again and now it works fine .

I've read somewhere in the net that 1.1.7 is much better than this 2.1.5 ...??? .well is it true ?

I also have a question , i can't drag and drop my own Wavs even though they are in 16 bits pcm at 705 kbps , same when i try to load them with the browser . That's weird because i have a lot of wavs samples and they work fine in UVI workstation .

Any idea please ? Thanks a lot !
Tubular Tos , it was me ! Now called The Path ! :)

Much better I'm not so sure about it.
One sure thing is that if you want to use the latest soundbanks, you will need to use the version 2.1.5

Hand cleaning registry is usually a bad idea.
Use add/remove program to remove iLok drivers, then install back the latest ones.

Tried everything yesterday before doing hand registry cleaning but it seems it was the only way to get a clean new install !

You don't need an iLok stick.

You can try this

1. Select and uninstall all programs beginning with "PACE":
• Windows XP: How to change or remove a program in Windows XP
• Windows Vista: Uninstall or change a program
• Windows 7: Uninstall or change a program
• Windows 8: Uninstall or change a program
2. After uninstalling each program, restart the computer
3. Delete the following items (if present):
- C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Local\PaceAP <- folder
- C:\ProgramData\PACE <- folder

download the latest version from pace website
http://installers.ilok.com/iloklicensem ... rWin32.zip

I suppose you have a 32Bits Windows XP

install and reboot.
