The fan boys call it powerhouse, others also "one sided edm synth".
...
Yep, but then include in your "one sided edm synth":
- all Tone2 synths
- Sylenth
- Spire
- Serum
- Vital
- Massive
- ...

To make a long story short: actually every (software) synthesizer respectively many hardware instruments created past 2000 or often even before (Hardware i.e. Virus, Nord synths...etc...)

So what´s the argument here...
Synthesizer mostly sound more "electronic" by nature and Avenger is at least as capable to create all kinds of (mostly electronic) sounds as are the others...
No realistic bagpipes, spanish guitars etc... can be found here... (while spanish guitars could be even possible ...not as detailed but at least...)...
I don´t understand the claim...

Every software synth created past 2000 has mainly the focus on all kinds of EDM genres ...however these hundreds of sub genres are actually called...

Post

One would expect more from "the last synth you will ever need", though
more than just to imitate every synth created past 2000

Manuel, don't act like a spoiled child by leaving if you don't like it, come back! :hihi:

Lol... I just bought Avenger this week-end and couldn't care less about this synth being too "EDM".
I don't do EDM but last time I checked a synth allows to tweak its sounds... I imagine a few years ago, portishead or Bjork talking about synths being too electronic for their genre...
I believe having original instruments for the genre you target is a good way to help being ... original...

Anyway, not intending to restart the troll cycle...

It's a synth, it is used to create synthetic sounds. Synthetic sounds are used in, you guessed it, EDM. But also in loads of other genres. Can you instead name one synth that you think fit your musical preferences, so it would become easier to understand what you are looking for, besides just being negative.
Mac Mini M4 Pro | 14 Cores (10P/4E) | 48GB RAM | Studio One | Reason | Bitwig Studio | Logic Pro | FL Studio | Cubase Pro | Waveform | Reaper | Renoise | ~1000 VSTs/AUs | ~350 REs

... and on a more positive note, a question addressed to the people regularly using this synth:
When do you decide to use it over a pigments or a phase plant ? Which part of it do you prefer using ?

There are some IMO great third-party soundsets here:

Even orchestral and mellotron...mmm

what bad discussion here from some people.... i was totally against avenger/VPS when they suddenly switched their copy protection, but this was another story. Avenger is still not fluid working and seems not to be very efficient fast (hope the code will be optimized a lot) other than that EDM only? yeah as a company i might promote a lot of EDM packs and demos to have a bigger attention but come on, Manuel and the sound designers already show how much is possible with Avenger, how varied and VERY COMPLEX it gets, it sometimes gets so complex i often usw 1 layer only ;D, the XPs show what a complex modulation and all the samples can be used and also synthesis. you got even orchestral samples/sounds, organs, hollywoood XP stuff, you got guitars, and a lot of sound design packs, full with atmosphere, granular synthesis, even old school chiptune XPS. wtf is wrong with some guys here? Avenger is capable of so much more than other beloved synths, just matters if you need the extra features and like the workflow and sound or not. the XPs inspire a lot for my taste and show how a lot of sounds are made! this knowledge you can use for other synths as well of course. this is an endless discussion so i think some people just wanna annoy around without any facts (internetdiscussion). Avenger is a whole different beast than Nexus ! Even Nexus is more complex now, but yeah i would kinda understand if someone would say Nexus is an EDM machine, but Avenger? lol no way... Even Simon (Sampleconstruct) did some XPs and he is out of many others a great sound designer!

Well put. Yeah, and they got rid of codemeter. Is it codemeter you were against or are you against it's current model, which if is so can you go into a little detail? I don't mind the copy protection right now, it's not much different than others correct besides the every 90 days thing is that what you are talking about?

And Codemeter is still installed with their (outdated) demo. With the answer to that being they're dropping having a demo and thereby relying on current videos to sell you on it.
This synth has the components that I look for of ITB synths. Too bad it has
decided to eliminate any way of trying a current version to know how performs on individual systems.

Are Avenger licenses able to be sold indefinitely (second hand) as long as we buy a license transfer ticket?
I'm thinking of buying one that has XPs just for XPs and then I would have to sell the Avenger afterwards. Thanks

Move the f on people. Stop wasting other people's time. No one cares that you can't install a demo. No one. NO.....ONE......CARES......MOVE.......ON. If you don't like the tool, again...MOVE.....ON. If the tool isn't for your tastes....yep...MOVE.....ON. Go outside or something.

Y'all are some seriously anti-social peeps wasting everyone's time with these pointless comments.
