Actually that isn't true. I am also Canadian with no CC. I got verified by them placing a 2 transactions of a few cents into my bank account and then when the transaction showed up, I just had to place the amounts they put into my account into the form and then I was verified. Took a few days.

That's just the initial verification, then your spending limit is like, $500 or something and in order to spend more than that limit, you have to have "Verified" status by backing it up with a CC. I think it's exactly the same for other customers; in fact, I'll bet most countries you can't hook up a bank account! I think that's fairly new.
