Hi

/rant/

I've got some money on my paypal account (just got it from a sale) but can't send any of it. I've contacted PP but they just talk BS like

Dear Klemen Kotar,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

Your sending limit is override.

I have no CC to enroll in an expanded program and I don't want to, I just want to send some money from my account to others when needed. It's not like it's thousands of $$$ that I'm sending. I've around 40$ on the account I can't use. f**kers.

Dear Klemen Kotar,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

Verification is necessary to lift the sending limit on an account. Once the limit is reached, the only way to continue to use your PayPal Account to send money through PayPal is to become Verified.

they don't even try to answer now, they just keep sending me these premade answers that don't say anything at all. Basically they've screwed me for 35$.

I don't think you're getting ripped off, if I remember right the verification takes a couple of days...

Hi Soulata,

I think Paypal has this "Verified" thing for good reasons: to keep it safe and secure. I have a Paypal account with creditcard, and it works fine.

I'm sure you are perfectly legit and meaning well, but a lot of people are not. I guess the verification thing is to prevent crooks to spoil the Paypal system, which wouldn't be good for all of us legit Paypal users.

Try to look at it from their side to. And try to become "Verified".

Did you actually reach your sending limit? Did they freeze the money in your account?

I only use them because I simply cannot get a credit card (probably good thing!), so this is my only option for online payments at the moment. I personally haven't had any problems (apart from verifying twice and still being listed as "unverified"). All my payments and cancellations have gone through fine, but there is a lot of evidence that something is fishy over there. My favourite Blogger had to remove PayPal donations from his site, for instance. So be careful, fellow PayPallers!

I believe you can also use a bank statement to verify.. you dont need a CC persay...

though I just closed my unverified PP account.. somehow the password I wrote down wasnt logging me in. so I phoned them and they sent me a check for the balance and I asked them to close the account then and there.. they had absolutely no problems with it and were very curteous.

try calling them on the phone - support seems pretty good there. at least my experience was good..

You see, it's much more complicated than that.

I opened my PP account while living in Austria, I had an austrian CC back then. After moving to Slovenia I had to cancel my CC, but could still use PP (as I had some money left overthere) - I removed the card of course.

Now, I still have some money left on the account (balance) but can't send it. They just keep on telling me I reached my sending limit.

Why? It's not that I want to send more than I already have on the PP account. I have like 35$ and need to send 13$ to ttoz. No go, apparently.

sorry ttoz, I'll sort it out somehow.

p.s.: I have a slovenian account as well, but it's useless - I can't even accept money there.

i wouldn't bother trying to get verified : they won't verify Canadians without a cc.
I have no desire for a credit card, so f**k em. I use paypal all the time, and have never had a problem not being verified. even when buying from sites that say "no unverified paypal purchases". heh. guess i've just been lucky.

Interesing. I did verify with a credit card, though, and it says "Canadian - Unverified", even though I went through this, and it shows that I have a credit card # , at my address. It hasn't affected any purchases yet, though.

I have reached my sending limit (1000$ in two years). I need to enter a CC to go over it.

The Catch - I must enter an austrian CC, because I can't change my address to Slovenia, however I no longer have an austrian CC.

Bummer no.2 - I can't get any money out of it (it's only 38$ though)because they don't send money to Slovenian bank account anyway.

The Finale - slovenian accounts can't accept money

Basically I'm screwed. Well, I'm thinking, maybe I could return the payments and ask the kind people to send them elsewhere, not sure that it works anyway.

Actually that isn't true. I am also Canadian with no CC. I got verified by them placing a 2 transactions of a few cents into my bank account and then when the transaction showed up, I just had to place the amounts they put into my account into the form and then I was verified. Took a few days.

that sounds like what I had to do too...it was a couple years ago though..

I had this thing from my sister that was suppose to be used by holistic healers to get the toxins out of your body...ionseclense or something like that.

I put the thing on e bay because I know my sister paid a lot for it...imagine my shock watching the end of the auction as it hit 1300 bucks...but the buyer paid through paypal, which I didn't have....however though it was a pain because it took close to a week to get all my cash, I could spend it online...so it evened out some....
