I can't understand for the life of me why you would want to get rid of this beautiful piece of software. There is nothing on the market that matches its potential for step sequencing. I may be biased though as i've used FL since it came out, and that has been some years ago. As a matter of fact it was the first music program I ever experienced, and I made things in it the first day I d/l the demo. That is saying something considering I had absolutely no experience with music software, and even very little experience (maybe just less than a year) of computer experience altogether. This program was good to begin with, and has only gotten better with each new adition. I recall the introduction of the piano roll (which when it first came out, not knowing what a piano roll was, considered it a highly annoying/destructive additon until I began to grasp the uses for it and fell in loooove with it. This program has been the whole reason i've been so inspired to create music by computer. It is powerful, as well as easy to use and I'm telling you all the honest truth when I say that I personally have had no more than about 5 situations where FL and some VST conflicted, and i'm talking ever since 00!. To conclude, absolutely not, there are hosts out there with certain advantages, but overall you could never find a better host. Considering you also have free upgrades forever, you can rest easy knowing that this thing will be upgraded and even more added (better midi, etc.)

Maybe, but I think Fruity has the most convoluted workflow around. I found it impossible to finish anything in v2.x and I haven't seen anything since then that has done much beyond making it even more convoluted. So not everyone has the same opinion. I was lucky enough to get most of my money back from ImageLine.

But Bones, you're pretty famous for not liking FL. Everybody knows you don't like FL. And that you do like Orion.

To be honest, I got into FL via word of mouth, direct experience with someone who was using it to write songs, it was cheap, it was cool, and everything was great. But I had never heard of Orion, or several of the other titles in this bracket. So I can appreciate you spreading the word that FLS might not be for everybody. I'm dead certain it's not for everybody. And it doesn't even look like anyone else is using FLS for anything remotely similar to my genre. Oh well

FL works for me, I just wish it could handle SYSEX, and certain other annoyances related to using external synths and multiple controllers, with it.
