Who exactly are you addressing here? And why? Are you saying people here at KVR sabotaged or hacked your server?Spe3D wrote: Well done guys! You win – you finally managed to bring it down

No I am not addressing K-v-R or saying anyone hacked it - I am saying it has had many many attempts to take it down via hacking, via overloading, via not following the rules, via loads of stuff that it does not make it worth it - it is me venting about a situation that has happened - basically I am saying the Auditorium and the agro caused by some inderviduals - makes it not worth putting back up - I dont know if you noticed - but my AudioShots site is 'dead'.whyterabbyt wrote:Who exactly are you addressing here? Nothing else to say.
Audioshots will be back - but the auditorium could well not be - its the weakest link.
Best regards,
Peter

If you're getting lots of hassle running the Auditorium then close it. Otherwise the stress will have an impact on everything else and that's not healthy.Spe3D wrote:No I am not addressing K-v-R or saying anyone hacked it - I am saying it has had many many attempts to take it down via hacking, via overloading, via not following the rules, via loads of stuff that it does not make it worth it - it is me venting about a situation that has happened - basically I am saying the Auditorium and the agro caused by some inderviduals - makes it not worth putting back up - I dont know if you noticed - but my AudioShots site is 'dead'.whyterabbyt wrote:Who exactly are you addressing here? At least you tried it and perhaps now the time has come to move on. This may disappoint some people but I'm sure they wouldn't want you to keep on feeling under stress.
I've always found you very helpful and I'm sure others have as well. But there's only so much help one person can offer without becoming overstretched. Running a free service must have it's benefits but it must also be very stressful at times.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Peter, this doth truly suck.
I think this is sad, but I can surely understand your decision.
Whenever something really positive and free fails I am reminded of a story told by a friend: It seems she was accosted by a panhandler and, having no cash, she offered him some of the cookies she was taking to a party.
His response: "Are they fresh?"
But on a positive note, with the Auditorium you have gotten at least one lifelong and very satisfied customer for your hosting services, which are in fact the cheapest and best I have seen, and I have done a lot of looking.
Not much, perhaps, but it is something.
Good Luck!

I am terribly sad to read this. The auditorium was such a great community, and so much eaier to explore and participate in than any other music community I have been involved with.
I am terribly sorry that people have ended up ruining it.
Peter, I thank you for the time and effort you have put into it all. I am sorry I did not say that sooner. I sympathise with the extra un-needed stress it has put on you. Best of luck with your hosting services.
best wishes

Ah right, ta. It read as though you were addressing specific people you knew would be here....Spe3D wrote: No I am not addressing K-v-R or saying anyone hacked it
Never really hung out at the Auditorium, but it seemed to be a popular community with a lot of people. Shame its too much hassle....
