So, this is at least 50% just a charity bump, because I really like this kit.

But this post comes with a request: is there anybody that's good with SFZ mappings that could cook a good one up for this kit by chance? I'm very inexperienced with actually editing/creating soundfonts.... but I basically have NO EXPERIENCE working with the SFZ format. I tried using the converter to throw it into SFZ, and it worked, but again, envelope settings are unplayable: the sample cuts off the precise moment the key is lifted up.

I downloaded SFZed and tried to mess with the settings and edit the mapping so that every sample was played to completion before being cut off, but in the hour or so I messed with it and tried to find info on the 'net, I was unsuccessful. I think SFZ would probably be the way to go here instead of SF2... I have a useable SF2, but the envelope settings, no matter what I do, make the cymbals fade and cut off quicker than is completely natural, and I still get weird polyphony issues that I believe (though I'm not positive) an SFZ mapping wouldn't get... it seems as if I quickly run into voice stealing issues when working with SF2s in SFZ (free version) whereas I never have a problem working with SFZ mappings.

I mean, I probably wouldn't run into these issues when I set up a new track for each drum, like I normally do, and made sure to make the midi note data for the cymbals and open hat be longer than normal... but I always like to have things that work well without my ghetto rigging ;)

If nobody wants to cook up an SFZ mapping, can somebody give me a quick run through of how to change an SFZ mapping so that every file plays all the way through? I saw a few opcode settings that seemed to solve the samples-cutting-off problem, but I couldn't figure out (if it's possible) how to apply them globally, and if I don't have to, I don't really want to go through and change things region by region. A global change or two and the SFZ map I've got would be quite useable, I think.

Thanks again for this sweet sounding kit... I can't quite figure out why, but I am absolutely in love with this kit. I've tried probably every free kit out there, from the really nice (Nskit, GSCW, etc) to the not so nice (names withheld) but for some reason, this kit, while maybe not quite as extensive as some of the others, like nskit and gscw, really sounds like I want a drum kit to sound.

So, in conclusion: bump.

I am not an sfz expert but you could try this at the top
<group>
loop_mode=no_loop
ampeg_decay=0.009
ampeg_release=41.420

One other solution could be something with "oneshot" IIRC but I don't have any sfz files using this method handy

Hope this helps

I noticed the "oneshot" thing, but my problem was that while in soundfonts, I could figure out the global thing (not too hard to create a global region) I couldn't figure out anything like that in SFZ. Thanks for the help, and I'll surely be experimenting with that soon :)

Hey guys, did any of you guys end up with a shareable SF2 or SFZ of that drum kit? Would be really great.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, I had missed this one :)

has anyone done any mp3 samples of this kit?

This one slipped by me too. I'll bookmark it and pick it up, maybe tomorrow... (<distant>Maybe some day...</distant>)

Ugh, naming convention on the samples is impenetrable and I don't have a sampler loaded on this dumb laptop. So it'll have to wait.
