How do I get Scarbee on a Muse

Hello again,
Err - I don't think we really need to scrutinize Mr. Skarbye for his decision.
I simply would like a statement from Muse, something to the effect of "Yes - we realize that the Syncrosoft protected plugs are in demand, and we are looking into supporting this format on Receptor" (rather than speculation, or asking plug manufacturers to support something else).
Either it is important to Muse to support this format, or not.
Thanks, Regards,
Kevin L.

I agree with Kevin, we just need to know that it is either in the works, or not. I don't care if it means sticking another dongle somewhere, I just want to be able to use the plugs.

Mr.Scarbee
Thanks for the post. I realize piracy is a very serious problem especially in these times but I sincerely hope that it won't discourage you from releasing more great music products. As a professional composer (signed with BMG Music Publishing), I know how this feels since CD sales have seriously nosedived in the past years....
I've been wondering, since Muse Receptor problems require sending in the Logfile of users machines, I'm sure this will discourage illegal usage of plugins on the Receptor.
Perhaps Muse may come up with some kind of authorization specifically for Muse users....?

Dear Mr. Scarbee,
I'm a dongle hater.
But I'm a Scarbee library lover.
No matter what you decision is, I'm for it.
Last month I was working on the music arrangement of a song in my album. I used the R.E.P.73 rhodes sample library.
Later my friend brought me his Nord Electric, which is famous for its electric piano and organ sound.
I did some A/B test, and then decided to keep my R.E.P.73 rhodes tracks.
It stunned everyone in the studio, for there was no software sounds so far that could stand against hardware sounds.
The Scarbee libraries are a must-have.

Hey Andreas,Andreas wrote:The Rhodes (MrRay) and Wurlitzer (MrTramp) from http://www.soundfonts.it is very good and works perfectly on Receptor, I never expected them to be as good as my Electro 2 but they are! Combine them with a nice amp sim and some other effects, and they are maybe even better! They are donationware, for a tiny donation you get the code that lets you use them without the annoying startup screen.
I tried TickyClav, but didn´t like it, but it´s free so see for yourself. Please post if you find a good clavinet, because then I will sell my Electro![]()
Andreas
You figured out how to get rid of the nag screen on your Receptor???
Please explain!!

Thomas, why are you so bad at maths, or economics, one or the other. If you reduce the price of something you sell a lot more, so your equation should have a much higher figure than 100 in it if the price were 50%. You actually have a good product, with a good name, a lot of people have heard of Scarbee Rhodes. However the big market is with home users. For most of them 200$ is right out of their reach. Now if one considers on line sales, the manufacturing costs are close to zero. All the work you did was in sampling the Rhodes. If you priced a lite version at say 70$, you would sell it by the bucket load. Your income would go up, and you would have many more legal happy customers. Even an income of $9000 a year is not too bad for one lot of sampling. However one could make much more money by intelligent pricing, and sell many more than 100 units a year. I am not surprised that the premium products like yours have low sales, this is because they can only be afforded by musicians.
Anyway it will not be too long before someone comes out with a well sampled Rhodes family priced to sell, and they will take the market from you both becaues of variety of sounds, and because of mass market pricing.
People who price for the premium market and complain about low sales annoy me.
I have purchased the Scarbee Rhodes.

Hi Peter,
Thnaks for your comments - I appreciate your feedback and just these days we make plans - which I'm sure you will like. You may not realize HOW small the market is and you will easily saturate the market with cheap products - but you will not profit - and that is important unless you do it for fun. (I don't)
We have actually tried before with LE versions at half price - but noone bought them. We have also tried lowering prices - but didn't see volume effect.
However we are considering a new marketing idea that may be interesting. (will be announced soon)
Remember too that we have a big group of VIP customers who may not look at our products if price is too low - as this can be considered a sign of low-quality. These customers are important becasue the PAY. Many hobby musicians unfortunately get a "free" copy instead.
It is also important that price reflects production cost and quality. A Scarbee product is much more difficult to produce thatn an average low priced product. You generally get what you pay for. However some can't tell the difference - and they should offcourse not buy our products.
When I shop myself I tend to skip the lowest priced produc ts as I'm not interest in buying too low quality. Another issue is that our instruments are generally big and requirements are high for comouter. If our products are too low priced - maybe a young student with an old computer buys our product and can't make it work?
Anyway - we also struggle with so called "Price-protection" that means that ex. shops who bought at "old" price requires money back if we lower prices - this has happened when we lowered VKC/KGB prices - and it was...ahem...not very funny..

But does that mean that there shouldn't be higher quality products available for those who can justify the expense?hutchi0 wrote: However the big market is with home users. For most of them 200$ is right out of their reach.

I would probably pay double the list price for the Scarbee Rhodes and Wurly. They're that good. I will be using them both for years to come. There are other
products that are more inexpensive that are fine, including some very nice freeware like Mr. Ray '73. If I only wanted the occasional Rhodes sound buried deep in a mix, I would go that route, but I am glad there are products like the Scarbee electric pianos that I can purchase, even if they are more expensive, because they are very much worth it to me for my needs.
A Maserati is out of my reach. And even if it weren't, I'd spend the money elsewhere. Does that mean they shouldn't be manufactured for others?

V.K.C/K.G.B for Kontakt/Kompakt?
Since we often receive requests for a Kontakt version (Sample Library) of Vintage Keyboard Collection and Keyboard Gold Bundle we have considered a release, but so far it has been kept back because of the serious risc of piracing and low sales.
We therefore will offer to release product if we get more than 35 binding PREORDERS. If we however do not receive these numbers it will not be interesting for us to finalize and release this product. Both VKC and KGB could be ready for release in few weeks.
Price of VKC will be $299 and KGB wll sell for $399. If you want to PREORDER it must be based on this price and not on a future "SALE" price.
Please send a mail to shop@scarbee.com and write: KGB Kontakt - PREORDER or VKC Kontakt - PREORDER depending on what product you want to order. If we don't get the right number of preorders release will be cancelled and you will not buy anything. If you at some point regeret the preorder - please send a mail with Header: REGRET.

I have absolutely no personal stake in this. I already own the Wurly, Rhodes, and VKFX.Mr.Scarbee wrote:V.K.C/K.G.B for Kontakt/Kompakt?

But let me say that if you don't already own these, these products are AMAZING. Blows away anything else out there for electric piano. Native instruments is not in the same league. At all.

Are you saying you care about the Wurly, and the Clav doesn't matter? I guess I'm the opposite. I never, back in the day, understood why the Wurlitzer was so popular (went through 4 Rhodes pianos, but never owned a Wurly, ever), but I absolutely want a Clavinet.
If I can't get a good Clavinet going on Receptor, I don't think I want to buy one.
Ah well, each to her or her own.

I would love to have the Scarbee Clav on Receptor, but not enough to purchase the whole bundle when I already have the 2 instruments I would use primarily.
I use the Wurly more than the Rhodes, and would use the Clav pretty infrequently, FWIW.

I'm in a similar boat. I already own VKC and VKFX so it doesn't make sense to sign up for another $399 just to get the clav. I'd much rather see Muse figure out how to get happy with Scarbee's protection and get VKC running properly on Receptor.
Muse, what can we do to help this along?! The Scarbee stuff is absolutely KILLER and it would be HUGE for keyboard players to have this stuff available on Receptor.

The only thing that's going to motivate either Scarbee or Muse is money.
If you've already purchased a Receptor, you have no leverage with Muse. I'm trying to make it known that I am waiting to purchase until this becomes available.
Similarly, I've made my preorder with Scarbee
