I don't know if it's my sound card (tried three different ones) or what... but every version from 5.0 on up has crashed after just a few minutes while Reason has never crashed on me once... NEVER, and I've been using it since version 1.0

whereas my experience is completely opposite :hihi:
orion, not had any probs since the early days really.reason i use at college on g5macs,and cant seem to stop crashing it :o
aint it strange how some users get one experience with a certain piece of software and other users get it with other software.
i know the theory of it being the machine but suurely not all machines can be that different, and in my case im in a room with 10 other people who have no problems
sorry bout goin off topic, and im not slating reason or saying you are in any way making it up,its just i do find these inconsistencies quite strange :?

yeah i completely agree, ive heard great music come from every host and ive heard shit music from the same hosts, its the person that counts and like i said wasnt my intention to get into a host "battle" (mainly cos i dont wanna have to pop a cap in you ass "orion" style)
just pointin out the weirdness(imo)of it all,its a funny old universe.ps i find your name offensive to the stupid, please change this or i will have you reprimanded by the moderators :x

even tho Reason is advertised mostly for electronic music productions but it's synths are still weak and thin (dont campare with hardwares!!), you might get bigger sound buy creating 3 or 5 same module playing the same sound.... reason is cool if you have decent samples! combinator have some cool patches tho... not much

for that money get yourself Hypersonic2!! IMO alot better than hpersonic 1 and Sampletank2! however, soniksynth2 is still not bad but hypersonic2 better!!
i.... havn't tried those 30G GM rompors tho ^_^"

Hypersonic is better than Sonik Synth? Hmmm. That's debatable. ;)

Anyway, speaking of Reason as a ROMpler, to really make it a Rompler you have to have all the sounds you were mentioning. Getting this turns Reason into one of the best Romplers around actually: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... uctID=1279

8,000 sounds covering every category... and there's also the Miroslav Orchestra Refills as well which are being released this week.

Good luck!

I did exactly that on a track that I have (it's on the Katrina Relief CD). The opening fat synth is using effects (tap delay in particular) from Reason - rewired from Live 4 directly to the FX units (no Reason mixer).

But it is an expensive FX machine so I sold it. :P
I thought you could only get sound out of Reason in Rewire mode - not into it?

Considering Reason doesn't have audio ins at all, I'd like to know how he did it myself...

theres that petertools hammer thing that allows one to hack the rebirth input device - but that can't be used when reason is in rewire mode afaik.

Maybe I'm dreaming. :o I don't have Reason anymore so I can't open that track and figure out how I did it.

It is a funny ol universe, I love Reason and I'm sure a lot of that has to do with how it's closed (I have to limit myself or I am productive wise useless) and beautiful to look at and i love the routing..BUT, the fact that out of all the hosts I've used it is so uniquely stable on my system surely has a huge impact on my experience, it never ever crashes and that kind of security really imparts itself to your overall opinion of something.. it builds so much value into the thing...yeah I know some things crash on some systems other don't etc...and this is odd but making music on computer is in itself a little odd really... if you think about it enough.. digresso anyway I think the stability of developers products will surely become even more of the battleground of the future in this changing world of very little difference between what one or the other can actually achieve.
