Using Rack Filters

OK I understand this now. Just for the record to answer DJSubject's comment in the video about all the fuss. There's a lot of fuss because this is an unconventional MO. Easy once it is seen done, but still an unusual way to do this kind of operation IMO. Now I hope I remember how next time I decide to use Tracktion. I n the past I have just thrown my hand up in the air and gone back to Fruity or Sonar where i can set up multiple outs without thinking.

Actually no I don't underatnd after just trying to set up SampleTAnk 2.1 in T2. I assigned ST2 to a rack as described and control-dragged it to a second track, then assigned two instruments to outs 1,2 and 3,4, respectively. Hitting nots with the instrument gui sounded fine with each channel herd and the meters responding. But when I set up midi clips for each the piano roll notes only sounded for track one not track two. ARRRRGHHH! :bang:

Perhaps you need to check the MIDI channels for the clips? A multi-timbral plug will need each seperate part on a different channel. (MIDI channels are set via the clip's properties, not for the whole track like most sequencers)

Did you play with those "left/right output comes from" settings (you should click on the rack icon in the filters' area to see them) ? Should be 1>left 2>right in the first instance and 3>left 4>right in the second I suppose
If I go insane, please don't put your wires in my brain

OK that's right I forgot about that. Now I got it. Thanks IIRs.

Zeoy Thanks I actually got that far before stumbling at the simple step of assigning midi channels.

There is something about the tTracktion gui that drives me nuts I can't figure waht it is but I start to lose it every time. Maybe the colours are too bright and distracting.

See ya, It's time to take my Advil.

Maybe try a different color scheme/skin?
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

No doubt. There are many available, and you can even make your own.

Right I'll have look for a nice dark one.

For eye-protection I prefer the "light but muted" ones. I use Mully's "Dust" (modified slightly so that the clips are coloured) and recently, pHz's "pHormpHollowspHunction" which might be dark enough for you, come to think of it!

It can be found in the Colour Schemes sticky in this forum, I believe.

I can't find pHormpHollowspHunction anywhere...

Here it is:

Clicky for pHormpHollowspHunction Scheme

Turns out it was in the "Does Tracktion need a 3D skin?" thread, not the usual sticky!
