Jens, reread my postings in this thread and you'll see I already discovered something therejens wrote:crimsonwarlock wrote:Above that the knobs don't rotate very easy with the mouse.
I've never seen any other plugin with as much control over the knob-behaviour as the VB-Striptool offers - right-click a knob for the various options...
Anything else like VB-striptool (free) ?

I read that but wanted to add that you can also change the knob behaviour in various wayscrimsonwarlock wrote:Jens, reread my postings in this thread and you'll see I already discovered something therejens wrote:crimsonwarlock wrote:Above that the knobs don't rotate very easy with the mouse.

OK, fair enough. And indeed you pointed me to something usefulljens wrote:I read that but wanted to add that you can also change the knob behaviour in various ways
However, these options are fine but for me being able to set the knobs with the mousewheel is most impressive. I actually have wondered for years why this hasn't surfaced as standard functionality in every music software. It's the most simple and straight forward implementation of a 'control surface' with just a mousewheel

I agree - its possible with every plugin, mixer etc in Scope to use the mousewheel this way to move knobs and sliders precisely - I wish it was a standard for all VST's (also for them to move the way Ohm stuff does)crimsonwarlock wrote:OK, fair enough. Thought I'd check it out but I can't find the strip tool download on the site (which is fascinating in that it has loads of great looking stuff but hard to navigate through)

The download is here:
http://vincent.burel.free.fr/download/index.htm
Go to the bottom of the page, Striptool V1.

those were my questions, toocrimsonwarlock wrote:Wow, Vincent you are HEREVincent Burel wrote:strange, i usually reply to every question.scuzzphut wrote:I emailed Vincent Burel a while ago about the striptool series. Got no response
unfortunate indeed.
Never mind, let me know what is your question ?

Do you have plans to update the striptool series? Seeing that there are now so many hosts that lack good channel EQ and given the luxury to have a dedicated (low CPU) compressor on each channel I think many people (including me) would be interested in this
Are the original striptool versions still available for purchase ?

Well, the actual striptool series is already a good and complete solution for begining a professional mix. The Striptool_V1 is here to introduce and show the concept, but the real stuff begins with striptool V2 and V3... By the way, in the future, i could make minor update to improve some details (someone asked me for a 48db/octave LPF-HPF, other for a small stereo delay or chorus in)... but acutally, nothing is really planned. Finally the Striptool Pack match 90% of the needs, and this was the goal of this product.crimsonwarlock wrote: Do you have plans to update the striptool series? Yes sure ! The Striptool Pack (containing Striptool V2 and V3) is available since many years now. But was not really presented on my website... now it's pretty done here :crimsonwarlock wrote: Are the original striptool versions still available for purchase ?

I see you have the information available now, that's great. However, I also found that your plugins require a dongle which is not so great. I'm sorry to say that dongles are a definite NO for me. So I have to stick with Striptool V1 as it is the only one NOT needing a dongle.Vincent Burel wrote:Yes sure ! The Striptool Pack (containing Striptool V2 and V3) is available since many years now. To bad, as I'm re-building my studio I was seriously interested in your plugins but this is a show-stopper for me

No problem ! people who don't buy my plug-in because the dongle, usually does not really need my product. And even for me it makes not so much sens to sell plug-in to people who don't need them. So everything is fine !crimsonwarlock wrote: To bad, as I'm re-building my studio I was seriously interested in your plugins but this is a show-stopper for me

Whether I 'need' your plugin or not has nothing to do with the decision that I (and many others) make about accepting dongled software. I don't want to start a debate about dongles here (there's enough here on KVR that should 'enlighten' any developer tmo) but the fact remains that I like your striptool as it (currently) fixes a problem for me but I won't be able to buy an upgraded version with more options without being forced to accept a dongle on my nachine. I'm quite serious about my music making even though I'm an amateur by many standards. And BECAUSE I'm serious about it I invest in serious equipment, both hardware and software, and BECAUSE I'm serious about it I won't accept any dongle for MANY reasons.
So your statement that because I don't want to use a dongle automatically means I don't really need your plugin is a bit narrow minded to my taste

Crimsonwarlock: Maybe what he meant to say was something along the lines of 'people who don't buy my plug-in because the dongle, usually does not really need my product ..' badly enough to put up with perceived inconvenience of the dongle.
Think of it like an old school kung fu film, in order to gain access to the legendary skills of the master (the dongle fist) one has to perform certain onerous tasks & take vows, of say celibacy or maybe has to perfrom certain mystical rites (lubricating the dongle).

Well, i said "no problem" ! i'm agree with you ! To buy a dongle to work with a software is too much... Since you already bought a computer, a mouse, a keyboard, maybe 2 screens, an audio board, also converter, pre-amp, remote controller... after putting several thousand bucks in so much hardware, you cannot spend 50$ in a dongle !crimsonwarlock wrote: So your statement that because I don't want to use a dongle automatically means I don't really need your plugin is a bit narrow minded to my taste
I understand very well your arguments, that's why the next generation of USB Dongle will include mp3 reader with 5Gb memory, and maybe cellular phone and GPS feature... This small stuff could help you to spend 50$ in a dongle isn't it ? i will notify you when this will be available. thanks
