Wow, sturdust looks good. And arguru is really awesome (didn't he do voyager?). Thanks for pointing this out.Z3R0T0N1N wrote:l love Stardust by Arguru.
Buzzcomp Free bundle does most of my comp work, but Stardust for special needs.
and for some good old skool punch, Kjaerhus Classic comp.
sometimes for Bass (with a capital Bass) i will use Blockfish, from DFP.
I don't have any payware compressors, actually. I don't use enough of it to really need any more that the free ones that i mention here, and really they are very high quality anyway, free or not.
Do not lick the fablanky

I don't want to compare products, but Voxengo and Kjaerhus comps are both really great.

Blockfish for drums
Waves Rcomp for everything else
I really want to buy voxengo marquis compressor, but need money first
Kjaerhus' comp sound way too polite to me, I can't get these things to sound really nasty and pumpy and driven, plus they suck way too much CPU out of my old comp.

I use the UAD-1 1176 a shameful amount. The LA2A is sometimes just the thing, but either works or doesn't (for me). The fairchild I don't understand at all, but it sounds great on the 2-buss and sometimes I'll try it on other stuff.
Neodyn is a really clever compressor, completely unlike the UAD-1 ones. I use it alot as well. I have a bunch of others, but rarely use them.

Grist for the glamour mill.

TLs Saturated Driver - great sound and low CPU usage (and it's FREE)!
