Why? I thought your own plugin does it all? :?
Yes, and even much better, but the big differences is that mine is capable of reproducing the sound of real amplifiers extremely well.

but for a heavy distortion, this one here does a very fine job.

Hi all,
I don't know what SM means, but it's pure VC++/Asm VST plug.
Cpu usage is subeffect dependent, so "Clean" preset has minimum cpu usage.

Its ok at best. I'll give him some credit for at least putting out something solely for heavy purposes, since thats where everything seems to suffer in amp sims.

But it sounds like crap(like all others) when I am speed picking. Till this day no amp sim has come close in getting a good sound when speed picking. The natural static that comes with fast picking just can't be reproduced I'm afraid. The pick attack just isnt right. But for big chords and slower progressions it does a good job , but most plugins can do all right in that category..

Wow! Extremist is the best heavy distortion VST I've run across. Some of the presets sound a lot like classic Celtic Frost, so I ripped into Crypt of rays right off the bat.

I couldn't quite get the sound I wanted though, and it's noisey. I don't "get" the noise canceller or whatever. Extremist is almost usable, but not quite. Well, maybe if I try playing around with the settings again I can find something I like. I'll probably still use my hardware guitar effects processor, but the VSTs seem to be getting better.

PS: I'm downloading Free Amp too, looks interesting. My guitar is probably wondering where I've been all this time.

I gave it a higher score than I should have, Its aweful!! Sorry there is not a usable sound in this, To this day the only fair Amp sim is the Simalanalog Jcm 900 with the boss SD-1 in front for the high gain, I still dont use that one too often, but it is hands down the best one out there by a big margin. Oh and Free Amp SE 1.5 sucked too for hi gain, but there was a couple "nice" sounding clean tones.

So I have no idea how to make my guitar sound good thru a vst? Doubtful, accept the fact I think it is no good, There is no user error, when I think it sounds like shit. It must be my error that I got the Jcm 900 to sound good, or I could get a few usable tones out of Amplitube, that some around said were great. YOU are right I have no idea what I am doing. Carry on with your drivel..

no, of course not - it has so few parameters that it is pretty hard to make it sound bad...

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

haha Seriously this sounds like ass. It does depend what one is after, and I want an amp that doesnt sound like this!! BUt for a vst its all right, but for actual tones it is just a wall of digital crap in my opinion. and Sepultura, I havent heard anything from Sepultura in about 13 years, but I know you cant get anything like Arise or Chaos Ad. YOU may have been able to get a MOrbid Visions sound, which is by far not a guitar sound I would want. And IF that is the sound you are after, that was made in 86', and I could almost hear that sound from this.. IF its new Sepultura I can't compare but somehow I doubt they would go to this type of sound. Love it!! I dont care, I am offering my opinion.. It needs a ton of work..

That was my point, this is not very hard to figure out if a sim sounds good or not..It either has a good sound to begin with or doesn't.
