This compressor is the closest i got to my UAD ones
And the Blockfish comp. is an EXELLENT limiter allso !!
Damn rigth you are!!!
Those guys and Simulanalog are more harmfull to the industry than all the pirates put together.

Nice plugs, well, great... and rock solid, stability isn't an issue with those.

This is my first post but I have frequented this site for the longest. I have a UAD-1 card that I am thinking of selling but I wanted someone's opinion on what native plugins compare to the compressors and eqs available on the UAD-1. I only use the compressors and nothing else. I have not purchased any of the additional plugins available other than the free Dreamverb sometime. While I know the effects are top notch, I need something that is more portable and therefore, the PCI card format is of no use to me.

Any suggestions? Alternatively, is there a firewire effects rack coming down the pipeline?

Though some of the compressors mentioned so far are very good, there really isn't anything native or firewire that compares to the UAD-1 1176LN & LA2A.

I've heard the best about focusrite liquid mix:

Portable, "knobby", kinda affordable.

I don't know of any native alternative to 1176LN, LA2A and the Fairchild.

I agree with the Uncle - there are plenty of good native compressors around, but nothing that has as much character or complexity as the UAD plugs. I'm no expert by any means, but they just have, well, a "quality" - they take off a lot of digital dryness and leave your signal feeling nicely massaged and polished...

another vote for tritone digital - their eq (hydratone) is maybe the best available - I had the chance to compare it to the sony oxford - it beats the oxford in many situations - the high boost ist absolutely wonderful - bass boost reacts the same as great hardware eqs: the bass not just gets louder - it get's bigger

they have annonced a compressor plugin - if that has the same quality as hydratone then I will be the happiest man on earth ;-) ;-)

unfortunately they have announced it since a long time already...
