Lol let's go to a park and we can get samples of you wailing on me with the gong
we'll call it "runagate beaten like a gong"
Samples of gong and man wailing like a boiled badger.
I don't mind bussing over to Minneapolis to get whacked with an overgrown cymbal.

Yeah, this will really be quite a unique instrument, I think. Totally self indulgent, as i am making it basically for my own use, but I think that many others will see its singular charms as well.funkychickendance wrote:"These are a few of an exhaustive collection of samples being used to make a multisampled gong instrument due for release in august."

These sound good even on the crappy little laptop speakers at hand. Can't wait to hear them over something better. Thanks much. This is in the "have to find a way to use it" category.

I love the cymbols and gongs, but I might hate this track because of how busy it seems. But maybe not. Still working on the actual instrumentation (in my head) instead of the guides.Spe3D wrote: @deaf -crazey and enjoyable track deaf dunerkwac

BTW, thats how I'm always able to finish a track so fast. I set up guides and fill in the holes
(I have to wait for my hearing to return a bit tho...)
but free samples means I'm all over it, dudes. I don't have a clean enough setup to do that type of thing at home anymore. (takes too long to set up everything)
So thanks again!!!

Thanks Peter! Fun it is, although I am most excited about getting the clavinet refurbished: the striking surface is made of little rubber pads which have decomposed. Replacements are about 4$ apiece and replacing them is involved as hell, but it looks like it has never even been played!Spe3D wrote:@Hero I love cymbals and gongs - that's a great instrument to have got your hands on Herodotus, tons of fun I would think

Another total bargain you got there Hero
The clavinet sounds like an interesting project, I have never used one of those, but the fact it's a mini electric piano with harpsichord type tone qualities should make it well worth the effort to complete its restoration - and then sample it

In the old days a Clavinet was a "must". In the keyboards "tower" was always a clavinet present !
