Thanks Herodotus...

Wonderful little bass. However, I had to convert it to Kontakt (using ESC) and then import it and save as a VSampler file bacsue the release was too long to my taste in Sfz (and I do not know what sfz parameter to change to modify the release time).

thanks - i will dl it when i get back to adsl2 speeds :)

PB - as long as the sfz has ampeg_releasecc"N" defined for it and set to say 100, use the cc "N" to control it

Glad to be of use!

BTW, you can re-set the release, or change many of the other qualities of the instrument, by opening the sfz file in a text editor. The release is in the opening 'group' tag:

<group> ampeg_release=1

The value is in seconds.

also sfz responds to CCs - so if you set ampeg_releasecc60=100 in the sfz file then u can use CC number 60 to control release in realtime

Cool!

My controller is crappy, and doesn't do CCs, so I am always missing stuff like this.

Time to update.

Except there is so much other stuff that I need.

sigh....

thanks, love all your stuff!

i use the MIDI out module in FL Studio to control sfz - then assign a knob to suit the CC i want

BTW, does anyone have any clever ways of using the harmonics?

How does one typically do harmonics in a multisampled instrument?

Excuse my ignorance. It is really hard to find information about creating multisampled instruments. I can't find any books that aren't out of date, and web resources are rather few, and also mostly out of date.

A thousand books, and some truly brilliant online resources about programming synths, and hardly a word on multisampling.

These are quite nice samples it seems. I may even take the time to loop them.

As far as harmonics go, you either trigger them via velocity (not so good) or switch to them via some controller.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Thanx for these John. Downloading now and will report later.
