This is an sfz instrument that I made for my own very limited purposes.

It was going to be part of something else, but a misunderstanding led to them being rendered at 16/44.1 instead of 24/96 before being deleted from the bassists hard drive :bang:

And so here are the samples, with the sfz file, although I am sure that others will be able to refine this simple instrument.

I have also included 16 samples of harmonics that are not mapped in the sfz file.

You can get the zip file off of the download page at http://realmusicmedia.com

Have fun.

Thanks Peter!

Couldn't have done it without you.

So was Peter the "unknown bassist" with the over-active delete button?

Thanks for these, John. One minor bug in the .sfz file though: the very first mapping is referencing file names "b_bo_xx.wav" where the "o" should be a zero "b_b0_xx.wav".

Thank you John :)

Nar not me Bradster ;) John has a resident bassist at hand. :) Who is probably kicking self right now thinking about having to re-sample the bass - its got to be worth it though given the tone.

Best regards,

Peter

Very nice, John. You guys have been making lively with the freebies. The gong last week was also excellent.

Generosity much appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve

You are most welcome.

I suppose that this is as good an opening as any to reveal that far from being merely benign, these freebies form the nucleus for our plans of total market domination.

:hihi:

Anyway, the plan is for Real Music Media to have its 'Grand Opening' in September.

What makes us different from other purveyors of samples is that we won't offer made-to-order loops that fit into pre-defined genre packages. What we do is to find talented musicians with unique gifts, and record them doing what they do best. Some of these recordings will be used to make loops, while others will form the basis of albums to be released on a related net label.

For instance, we are making a live recording of a 30's revival jazz band next month, and we will also be doing sessions with selected individuals from this band to make loops.

The vague 'mission' here is to bring the huge international internet jam session that we kvr regulars take for granted to the many talented musicians that are too busy doing other stuff to realize that this brave new world exists.

Or more accurately, to bring them into the aforementioned jam session, for the benefit of the jam session itself, while giving musicians a usually much needed source of additional income. We split the proceeds of each sale equally with musicians who are featured in our loops or on our net label (which has yet to find a worthy name). The goal is to have the two working together: "You like these guitar loops? Want to buy the guitarists album?" "You like this song? Want to jam with the drummer?"

Etc.

Our recording methodology is pretty damn pure. We aren't quite Maple Shade Records, but we do strive to capture instruments as they actually sound in the space that they are recorded in (with the exception of synths, of course), without intentionally adding anything.

I really do strongly believe that this international internet jam session is a very great gift given to those of us lucky enough to experience it. Real music media is an attempt to bring this to talented people who don't know about it yet. And there are many of them.

Hell, until a couple of years ago, I was one myself.

Thanks heaps. I've been trying to find a decent bass for a while now.

Glad things are working better, mutant. The Audioshot servers are rarely sluggish for very long.
