I'm impressed on how compreensive you folks are. If it was me, I would just return the unit and ask for a refund. I remember when I got my Alesis keyboard years ago, had to replace 3 times. Never purchased another Alesis keyboard again.

NI is terrible for Software, and looks like they are now terrible for hardware too. :x

OK Mr. 1 post; would you share your personal experiences with NI software to support your claim?

Oh, and welcome to KVR :)

I purchased the very first Generator version, sucked BIG time. Full with bugs and problems. Reaktor 2 was also problematic. I stoped at Reaktor 3, altought was more stable, still problematic. So I said, F* NI, I'm tired of this S*.... :bang: And I'm sure that there are TONS of users like me out there...

Ok, but how about this?

So you have to return it, and wait until they replace it, and HOPE that the new unit doesn't have problems?

That's B***S***T. Sorry, but NI should be hold responsable for those things.

I ask you all now, what if it was ROLAND, that I see most people here strongly HATE. Huh? Huh? HUH?

:box:

I'm out of here...

I guess shit happens  Im sure there are indeed many pissed NI customers...

Im gonna have to wait approx another 2 weeks to be able to use KORE as the soft wont work without the controller attached...

But if I let get to me my blood pressure would be thru the roof :hihi: ... NI unquestioningly offered to replace the unit and Im happy with that.

I'm actually happy to see that you are taking this so nicely. If it was me, I would prob. have a F* heart attack. :scared:

BTW: So the hardware acts like a dongle?! :-o I wonder how long it wil take for the nasty-hacker-dudes to brake it. :( Not my problem, I know, but still, why not make it work without the F*K piece of hardware. What if the darn thing brakes while you are finishing something important? If its like that, NO SALE FOR ME. "Tozz (c)"

Im actually surprising myself too!!!

Yeah about the dongle - there are a LOT of posts on the NI forums about this and requesting the soft to be 'freed' from the need for the hardware.

Im alright about it under 'normal' usage conditions - I knew this before I bought the product... only thing is mine is broken and I cant use the software while the replacement is on its way to me

:hihi:

A heart attack over a scratched controller that will be replaced by a new unit within two weeks?

and when was the last time you broke a piece of equipment?, it's pretty much the same for anything else, what if i throw my pc trough the window?, it just wont work anymore, that makes it unreliable, right?

I agree that being able to use Kore as a standalone app would be great, i'm sure that i would own one by now if that was the case, but it's not, and that's cool too, it's their choice, i get basically same functionality out my brother's remote sl and live (especially with the new update to live 6), i ordered my zero sl after reading more about Kore and deciding against it, i'm sure that it can be a great addition to other people's set up, just not for me i guess, i share all my harware with my little bro, and he some times borrow stuff for weeks, if he takes Kore then i wouldn't be able to work on the software so that makes it useless for me, and it's not cool enough to buy 2 units.

Anyway, i'm glad to see that your problem is solve mckenic, the wait is not that long and it will be worth it, and it's nice to see that NI is helping you out and replacing the unit.

Uh, he didn't throw his Kore through the window, now did he?? And... from what I've heard, sounds like NI partially designed this thing to help sell Komplete, and didn't do a very good job of it. I own FM7, Absynth, and Pro-53 and that's about all I want from NI... Bought them before you had to have the "Komplete" I.V. hooked up to your arm!

The whole thing almost sounds like a scam, if I didn't know NI makes great stuff

mckenic wrote:Little update... Im gonna send these vids also to NI.

So I FINALLY got KORE registered - had to set it up on my USB 1 iMac (It wont work unless USB 2 is used) registered it and downloaded the updated installer for XP... phew.

So I got my email saying the Komplete 3 update was being sent :hyper: Result! But then I got to playing with the KORE...

One of the 8 touch sensitive knobs is not touch sensitive - you gotta hold the knob down REALLY HARD for it to respond - see linked video.

Then the plastic faceplate that is scratched is also VERY loose - see linked video.

Not happy at all and off to post on the NI forum and send off a support request - will report back... TBH I've ALWAYS had great support from NI so this should be a learning experience at least - hope it goes as smooth as in the past...

Oh sorry for the carppy vid quality/lighting - dontcha just dig those spidey sheets!!!

Dave
WOW! After seeing that . . I would be very pissed, too! :x

* This is the main reason I haven't purchased KORE . . freebies or not *

I'm amazed that NI hasn't requested the manufacturer of the controller to replace them all at the manufacturer's expense, and that they would even allow these to be passed on to their loyal customers. It only makes NI look bad. Personally I wouldn't want that kind of PR. I've lost more than a bit of faith in them after hearing these disappointing stories regarding KORE. :?

:tu:

Thanks for the thoughts!!!

Im still optimistic that things will be wonderful in the end... but then again i DO live in La La land :hihi:

NI's holding up their hand and saying "Yep sorry 'bout that - send it back & we'll send on a new 'un" has made me feel a lot better! So I wouldnt give up just yet

Cheers!

That is cool of them, I must say. However, they really shouldn't have sent them to their customers to begin with. I hope all turns out well for you, Dave. :)

You clearly missunderstood my post, it was aimed at Menthorian in relation to the following quote.
