i think we need to do this properly!!!

devs cant vote for there own stuff & the IP address of each vote should be logged & a minimum of 6 months membership at KvR (or at least one of them if not all of them )


its very easy to con a no rule voting rig on line


it would be a shame if the prize didn't go to its fair owner IMO

That won't help, if someone wants to vote multiple times..just connect thru several proxyservers ( enough lists with servers available imo )

I say trust the integrity of the Developers, we're all grown men here, right? ..
we're making freeware plugins / tools for all to enjoy.
It's about being in this challenge for the fun of it, and free advertisement for those cool products.

I voted the first alternative, this should be applied in a similar way that the eurovision song contest applies the point rule; that a country cannot give itself points during the vote. If a dev want to vote (and I definitly do wanna put my vote in) then put them in different categories.

I don't know if the subject is close (if yes, what are the rules?), but I'm totally agree with djsubject , but a 6 months membership is too much! I'm a 3 month membership but I am in the competition! Also, I think we have to induce (?) users to vote (pub on the kvr home page for exemple).They are the future users of our plugs.

I vote "no rule". I think that although there may be some feelings of "loyalty" on the part of betatesters I think we are all adult enough to be able to put feelings aside and vote in a reasonably unbiased way - plus there are several here (like myself) who are beta'ing more than one contribution anyway so we still have to make a choice. Besides, even if there was still some small bias I think with the number of people involved in beta testing every app will have 2 or 3 so it should even itself out pretty much.

I voted no rule, too. Bias is a fact of life, these things are usually more fun when it is just a free-for-all.

I voted for "no rule". Don't wanna miss out on 135 votes

Now seriously, most of my active beta testers have also beta tested at least one other entry.

I still think it's all for the spirit. I don't expect many votes for my cheese anyway.
