Care to explain? Believe me, NuSofting is the last dev I would want to question...

I think on my end the results are pretty fair workwise. Mine was obviously one that took some of the least amount of work. Otto's head was even already cut-out for me. We didn't make any presets.
I'm a bit disappointed because I guess I was hoping for some Subgenius luck to come through and I honestly think mine is cooler and more original and usefull than a lot of the others. But that of course is just my opinion. I have a lot of hardware synths so for me, the time it takes to plug a VST synth into my folder is not worth the time taken away from my Virus Indigo or V-synth. I do like absynth a lot and use it tons but that's about it other than my own of course. But then again the majority of people just have a MIDI controller so that would make a VST synth the king glory.

It's bouncing balls making sounds! Even real balls do that, but you can't use your own wavs with real balls :) I have seen bouncing balls triggering sounds and using collision force, ball size, ball speed and whatnots as parameters for the actual sound playback many times before and I wouldn't even have a clue as to "who did it first" :)

If someone would've made a basic synthesizer, like 2 oscillators->low pass->VCA they would not have been the first to make a synthesizer after that design. I don't think such an entry should be disqualified either :)

Post

I agree.
There were some synth entries that were similar to hundreds of other synths out there. Not just one. In fact almost every entry is similar to plugins that are already out there.

I agree, most of the synths in the compo make sounds, and that is a blatant copy of all other already exsisting synths that made sounds first.
Not to talk about the effects, they _change_ the sound, how dare they steal this concept!

I could go on, but I think I made my point (and if you missed it, I was supposed to try and be funny)

Hey I voted for it (4th or 5th anyway :))

Pondular did pretty well all told - that was my first choice though I was pretty certain Triple Cheese would win overall (which is why I voted second for that)

thanks for the link, I did't know that,
also I didn't know this

when I started C&P,

surely balldroppings is very similar to C&P,
but that just says that I'm one of the few who used this concept for an audio software, I never claimed I was the first,
did I?

Holy crap, that's awesome. Got any others? With multiple instruments? hehe

Me loves me experimentals ;)

C&P already use multiple instruments, no?
you have 3 ball types and 3 hit to line types,

also next version will have MIDI out to play any VSTi

Post

Dunno, never tried it... I was referring to a web one, just for fun (killing time)

Ah now that would be good - an up-to-date alternative to Sounder (it would ideally need to be able to play different scales/keys though and imho would work best if it was a plugin rather than standalone to avoid most people having to use loopbacks etc)

yes, juts is not easy having the same stable graphical animation in a VST plugin, let's see,

BTW I'm happy with the result of the DC, not exactly my list but close to it

Post

I didn't realise that about graphics. Never mind - I don't need to use a midi loopback on my system

- I was just thinking of almost everyone else :harp: :)
