well done tuz, you rule.

So I turned up as #28. Not bad for a first try in a Developer Challange. I've learned a sh*tload of things from this competition.

Thanks that I was allowed to enter! That's a honnor as big as anything!
Best regards from Johan Brodd.

Dang.
I did a lot worse than I thought/hoped. :?

Meh, it's not the best thing ever, but I still think a lot came from bad explanation/no hype.

Cheers.

(p.s. for the sake of beating a dead horse with dead kittens, I'd appreciate my points total if you'd be so kind. ;) )

Is it now time to taunt the ones that I ranked higher then and accuse the ones with better ranking of cheating?

:D

Seriously, it's been fun, now share the prizes :)

I was expecting this - many people were saying how they voted alot for LBB and Pushtec, and there they are on place 4 and 5!

I'd still like to know points total.

Post

OUCH!!!
Damn I just remembered how much I f**king hate competitions.
In hind sight, I must say it would have been more "lucrative" for me to release this on my own and lap up the magazine glory solo instead of at the bottom of a list of 31.
That being said you'll probably get another little knick knack out of us next year.

Jeepers Creepers, #8 is really great considering all the problems we ran into and that we ran out of time in the end. I was expecting Grizzly to end up at #15-20 or so. Big thanks to everyone that voted for us! :)

I'm happy with the results - especially considering it was kind of a non-mainstream plugin by a newcomer to the scene

loved being part of it, and want to thank Tuz, Ben *and* all the voters, who spent considerable time figuring out the 31 entries. :tu: And respect to the fellow devs : you guys were a tough -but fun- bunch to compete against :hail:

and to the new devs contemplating taking part in a DC07 : you should absolutely do it, because even if the ranking is not what you hoped for you will still get

-feedback that helps you improve things (like free testing in hosts you don't own)
-a deadline! it made me actually finish something
-nice new and unexpected contacts (thank you guys)

one last suggestion for a possible DC07. Someone mentioned this before, a good idea would be to make the voting process more detailed, i.e. scoring sound, originality, stability, useability separately. If only because that's very useful feedback to the devs. Also maybe putting everything on one dimension is tough (as often witnessed in the voting comments). So maybe keep the Oscar for best overall movie, but also add a category system with a nomination for best synth, fx, midiplug, ... And one for best new category ;-)

IMO Collide and Play by NuSofting should have been disqualified for copying Josh Nimoy's balldroppings. Am I wrong?
