How to create this bass sound.....?

What synth/settings did you use for that demo Leslie?

For "Like A Fire" it sounds like a square waveform with the cutoff turned down with a modest amount of resonance. When he starts fiddling with the cutoff, it sounds like he may be manipulating the resonance as well. My ears may be playing tricks on me, but I think I hear a tiny bit of glide in there, too. If it's there, it's very subtle.

yeah i thought so myself, only when i start turning down the cutoff to get that sound, things just start becoming muddy and muffled and i cant get that clarity, warmth and roundness. thats where i'm going wrong i think.
