A banassi is a damn good electro producer who made the track satisfaction. You would of heard it on TV and ministry of sound, been featured in lots of ads. Also made a great track love is gonna save us. He has a very distinct style of bass in he's tracks.stk wrote:What is a Benassi, and why does everyone want to sound like it?

I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not, I have heard satisfaction a lot of times on video hit shows, ministry of sound mix cd's and also on the Australian beer, extra dry commercials for the past few years.stk wrote:Er, no. He might not be the greatest techincal producer, but I would consider a dance music producer who has had nearly everyone in world hear he's song in some way or another a damn good producer.GHOST19 wrote:Not sure about "damn good"d4dirty wrote:A banassi is a damn good electro producer who made the track satisfaction. I wasn't being sarcastic. I was saying that television is shite mind control, and MOS is just, well, shited4dirty wrote:I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not, I have heard satisfaction a lot of times on video hit shows, ministry of sound mix cd's and also on the Australian beer, extra dry commercials for the past few years.stk wrote:Er, no. But I was truly interested in the identity of a benassi, since there's been a deluge of people wanting his bassline..

I totally agree. I prefer Alex Morph and Rank 1 's song "Life Less Ordinary" - it's got that similar bassline with much better crescendo-ing and a more prog. house-like sound. If you haven't heard it, I highly suggest giving it a listen.wiooi wrote:the vocals in that track put me off that bassline in any form...

So mr Bennasi made his mark by being unique and now everbody wants to copy him ?
Isn't that like the 100 % wrong lesson to learn ?

Sounds like the 99.9% accurate Modern Music 101 lesson to me.jupiter8 wrote:So mr Bennasi made his mark by being unique and now everbody wants to copy him ?

I am 100% sure that Benassi had producers that inspired him to get he's sound. No one in the music industry or any art industry is ever unique. Even in art school painters have to show their influences for each peice.jupiter8 wrote:So mr Bennasi made his mark by being unique and now everbody wants to copy him ?

In my opinion there is only this rule to live by in electronic music.
Copy.Learn.Make.Use

Of course you can claim that noone is unique as we're all inspired by the music we've heard but on the other hand you can say we're all unique as every piece of music is different. The only piece of music you have a chance of recreating exactly like the original is "Silence" by Brian Eno. Any other and you're chances are pretty slim. Approaching zero.
So i'll try again. So Mr Bennasi made his mark by being different, easy recognisable, distinct. And now everybody wants to copy him ?
That makes no sense.
