There are positives and negatives to porting on either side. The speaker itself is almost like a sort of front port since sound passes through it with almost zero dampening, anyway. The only system I'm convinced is bad every time is the passive radiator, a la HR824.hibidy wrote:They have the "front port" which I'm certian some people won't think is cool.

Before anyone drops the money for those Mopad thingies you might try dropping in to any computer hardware peripheral supplier and ask if you can have the high density foam packaging that server hard drives are shipped in.
These might have anywhere from six to twelve slots sized to securely hold the disks, and are the same thickness as the length of the drives they are designed for...6 to 8 inches or so. You simply cut the foam to a size that matches the dimensions of your particular monitors, and sit them on top. The foam can be cut with a serrated bread knife.
If you are stuck with a desk top mixing environment, this cheap solution might also allow you to get your tweeters at a better height to your ears.

I have them as well, they seem to have made the bass response a little tighter on my speakers, nothing crazy.
They lifted them to a better level though which is nice
Out of those speakers you listed my favorites would have to be the dynaudio's mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMm!

Hmm...thanks to Kilroy for the El Cheapo tip! I'm going to try that out at work, where I have the Truth's pathetically stacked on some old books.
