Would be great to have a variable bend range, but if it had to be a preset range that range should be 2 steps or 1 semitone, for my playing. but variable would be best because sometimes you want to go dive-bombing! :)

..I delibrately kept the pitch bend range low so as to keep the range more within finger bending limits...of course a whammy bar would explain wild pitch bends in either direction too..

do you think 2 steps would be more suitable for many keyboard players?

I had thought of adding a choice for pitch bend range but kept it out because i didnt want to clutter the GUI and i was running out of time!...Ill keep it in mind for a future version though...

I think there is room for ONE more mod wheel level, at the very top. The way it is now, the long notes could come in with a lot less mod wheel advance - just a slight push up should trigger them. The vibrato kicks at exactly mid-point of my mod wheel (M-Audio Radium 49) which is perfect. Then there's plenty of room for one more level at the very top of the throw (I'd like the root/5th power chords there!). Then give some lower notes (to at least C1), and at least a 2 stage selection on pitch bend range (2 and 3 steps) and it would all be so sweet!

Yes, the whammy bar is a good idea for future versions, but I hope you'll consider a change for this version on the pitch bend range. I use a lot of pitch bending and mod wheeling in my solos (listen to my song "River of Fire" and you'll hear enough PB and MW to satisfy you for a week! (see link in sig) and for me 2 steps is what I use almost exclusively. Sure there are times when more or less PB is needed, but I'd think for most players 2 steps covers about 95% of their use. So if not a switch, then a flat setting of 2 steps would be best.

I don't how much, if any, mods like this are allowed on these Dev Challenge plugs, so I'm just thinking outloud.

..thats exactly what I had in mind!
...power chords at the top!...
I wont be recording any new samples until I get some new pick-ups however...but then I will update the existing soundbank and add maybe 2 new ones with different tones (for now at least).. and release it as version 1.5 or something.. I have the Bass version to do first though.. 8)

I will change it to 2 then.. :)
but yes, I think it is better to wait until the 24th of october seeing as this is not a bug!

Post

I like to report a bug! The pitch bend range is irradically playing 3 steps, instead of the intended 2! Hope this can be fixed soon.

:) Understood!

I almost believed you there for a second..

OK, I do have an actual bug. Geez I hope it's not going to be a painful one. The tuning is about 20 cents sharp (from A=440).

And while you're in there...

...you mean for the whole range?....or just some keys? I tuned every note as best I could, but to be honest it was one of the most difficult parts of putting the whole plug together...man, maybe I should just get a new guitar..
..but I suppose a little bit of transposing would take care of it for the most part...
..but let me know if you mean all the keys or not... maybe I can adjust all the samples in one go...
cheers... 8)

Yes, all the keys are a bit sharp. You can measure this with G-Tune or CTuner (both free). Noticed it first in mute mode, but then confirmed in full mode. I synched some keys with SRG and found about +20cents sounded best, but the tuners said the sharpness was around 12-23 cents (fluctuating during the notes). Maybe a global transpose will do the trick!

SciFiArtMan

..If I rounded it off to maybe -15 cents that should do the trick...thanks for the heads up..
I used the built in tuner on my Line6 toneport to tune-up but I suppose I should have got a "2nd opinion"..... :)

Post

Yes, upon further testing I found -15 cents flatter to be the sweet spot also!
