Can't export all slices to separate files in Liveslice, though.jPod wrote:Have you checked out LiveSlice?
I love Edison, but I'm not sure it does everything you are after well. I know it's pricey, but ReCycle is probably the best game in town for this sort of thing. Is saving up, or maybe even a second-hand copy, possible (not sure if license transfers are allowed on it)?

Yeah, Liveslice doesn't do all I want. I have also tried both versions of the ConcreteFX dicer. It is completely unintuitive to me. The waveforms, I couldn't even get them to display. Just blocks instead(maybe I missed something?). But it also seemed to lack a lot of stuff, plus it wasn't stable. It kept slowing things down when I ran it.
Right now, I have Wavesurgeon, and I'll see what I need as I need it. If needed, I can always save up. I also saw a copy of Recycle brand new on eBay for like $130. So maybe I'll come across something like that when I get there.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think it's obvious that there is a lack of products in the budget range for this. Although free programs like Wavosaur will actually do almost everything I listed, it's still not "quite there".

Oh, and at this time I'm holding off on Edison. It's decent at what it does, but the rest of the pack is literally no use to me. And there are still some small things that I don't like about it. Although it does do what I'm wanting.

Hi Brent,
Since you own Podium, I'm wondering what you miss with the Podium beat slice function?

Whoa, what? Podium slices beats? WHAT THE HECK!?!?!?! Why have I never tried that?
I'm going RIGHT NOW to check it out. There are little things I find out about Podium every time I work with it.
Thanks Fritz! I'll check it out, and any feature requests will be posted soon(if any!).

Ok Fritz, I tried it and the slicing works great! The only thing I can't find is a way to export all the slices as separate files. I can see where to export a single region, but can't seem to export them all.
Is that something that could be implemented?

There's a small description of the beat slice dialog in the wiki guide. I've just added a screenshot:
http://www.zynewave.com/wiki/doku.php?i ... beat_slice
When you've applied beat slicing, you end up with a bunch of sound events which all link to the original sound file. Right click the multiple selection, and select "clone phantom sequences". All sound events will now be linked to separate sound files. Right click the multiple selection again, and select "crop unique sequences" so that each sound event only contains the slice instead of the entire loop. When you save all changes to the project, you'll find all the slice sound files in the arrangement folder.

I tried all that, and it's dead easy to do. My ONLY wish is for a way to remove silence, and also the ability to keep all slices selected in the editor(for whatever reason).
I must say though, that I never tried this before. Thanks so much!
